Chapter 36: The Yasuo-Maining Zoroark
Every year, new Pokémon are discovered in this world, so Nan Qinli wasn’t too surprised by the revelation.
Still, she couldn’t help but admire Chen Nian’s insane luck, not only had he managed to charm a Dragonite during his trip, but he’d also stumbled upon two never-before-seen Pokémon!
Thinking back to the adorable Cosmoem, Nan Qinli sighed wistfully.
“They’re so cute…”
“If I ever find one, I’m definitely catching it!”

Chen Nian nearly facepalmed at her words.
There are only two Cosmoem in this entire world, and both are already with me. Unless you somehow isekai yourself, the chances of you finding one are basically zero.
Still, he didn’t want to crush her hopes, so he nodded agreeably.
“If we ever come across another one, I’ll help you catch it!”

Nan Qinli wore a pink-and-white pleated skirt, a cute straw hat, and pristine white sneakers with matching ankle socks.
With her slender, fair legs and the way she clung affectionately to Chen Nian’s arm, she looked like she’d stepped straight out of an anime, earning him countless jealous glares from passersby.
Unfazed, Nan Qinli ignored the stares and kept holding onto Chen Nian as they made their way to a well-reviewed restaurant.
After their meal, she suddenly suggested:
“Brother Chen Nian, it’s too early to go home. How about we watch a movie?”
“A movie?”
“Yeah! Let me check what’s playing!”
She pulled out her phone and scrolled through a ticketing app, but soon sighed in disappointment.
“Nothing good is showing… Oh! I know—let’s go to an internet café and play games! There’s this new Pokémon-catching simulator I’ve been really into lately…”
Though gaming wasn’t his thing, Chen Nian was happy to indulge her.
When they arrived at the café, he glanced around and saw most people glued to their screens—playing League of Legends.
Even in a world with Pokémon, this game is still ridiculously popular…

Nan Qinli got them two computers and sat right next to Chen Nian, eagerly booting up her favorite game and explaining it to him.
Just then, a loud, angry voice erupted from the row of seats across from them.
“What the hell, jungler?! GANK!”
“Are you stupid?! Learn to rotate!”
“Top, stop feeding!”
“GO IN, YOU IDIOT! IT’S A FREE KILL!”
“Trash teammates, and you dare flame ME?!”
A teenager furiously hammered his keyboard while yelling into his headset.
Chen Nian frowned but initially ignored it—until the kid kept shouting, completely oblivious to his surroundings.
Finally, Chen Nian stood up.
“Hey, could you quiet down? This is a public space, and people are trying to—”
His words died in his throat.
His eyes widened in sheer disbelief, as if he’d just witnessed something impossible.

The loud, foul-mouthed teenager across from him wore a baseball cap, had a cigarette dangling from his lips, and was chugging a bottle of soda.
To anyone else, he’d just look like some obnoxious gamer kid.
But Chen Nian knew better.
This wasn’t a human at all.
This was a freaking Pokémon.
