Allen Zhang reined in his smile, "So you think you’re up for it again?"
"Buddy, I’m not who I was before! I’m going to teach you a lesson!" Craig roared as he charged forward.
Seeing him so arrogant, Allen didn’t indulge him and prepared to show him some color.
With a sidestep dodge, he threw a lightning-quick punch, nailing Craig’s jawbone.
With a crack, as if hammered in the face, Craig reeled as if struck by lightning, eyes going dark. He staggered forward unsteadily and then instantly face-planted into the ground.
"Save it. You really think you can fight?" Allen taunted.
It took quite some time for Craig, lying on the ground, to come to his senses, feeling his face swell up like a pig’s head. His eyes cleared up a lot, and he said honestly, "I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have provoked you! I apologize for my impetuous words."
Upstairs, passionate cursing and arguing could be heard. Soon after, rapid footsteps followed, and a disheveled woman, furious and embarrassed, came down the stairs, turning back to curse angrily, "You damn bastard, you should have been hit by a car when you walked out the door! You’re not a man at all! You’re a waste!"
Reko also chased down, cursing, "You wanton whore! Don’t even think of getting a cent from me! I’ll freeze your cards!"
"Oh, then I really should thank you for that! You better do just that! Darling, what’s wrong? Why is your face swollen?"
The woman turned and saw Craig sitting on the ground, showing him tender care, which infuriated Reko who had just come down the stairs.
The woman dragged Craig to leave this troublesome place, "Let’s go! Leave this place!"
Craig pushed her away awkwardly, "Just go yourself, I’ve got things to do."
"What? Are you dumping me?" The woman couldn’t believe it, you just said I was your only one.
Craig turned his back on her, "What we had was just a transaction. You’re married and dating me? Your cards are frozen, I can’t get a cent from you, what’s the point in staying together?"
The woman, enraged, swung her hand at him.
"Crazy woman!" Craig covered his head and scurried away, driving off in his car.
Allen stood aside, munching on the juicy drama.
"I have other boyfriends, don’t think I can’t live without you! Without you, I can live even better!" The woman left a harsh word and hailed a taxi on the side of the road to leave.
Reko turned pale with anger and cried, covering his face, "She has no feelings for me anymore."
Allen patted his shoulder, offering comfort, "It’s normal, you just can’t satisfy her. Life isn’t easy for a man; you always have to wear some green on your head."
"Do you have any?" Reko retorted.
"I’m not even married."
Allen said with a stern face, "I’ve already sorted out the issue for you. I’m leaving now, you figure out the rest yourself!"
"It’s not settled yet, is it? My wife left me!" Upon hearing that his comrade was about to abandon him to face this mess alone, Reko got a little panicked.
"My target was my current girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. Helping you was just a convenience. The rest has nothing to do with me." Allen said, "I still have work to attend to."
"I can pay you a fee! Help me sort out the rest!" Reko offered.
"How much can you offer? I’m not short of money. See that Jeep there? That’s worth sixty thousand US Dollars," Allen said irritably.
"What do you do for work? Maybe I can help you." Reko persisted.
"What can you do for me? I invested in my friend’s scrapyard. Can you help with that?" Allen replied.
Reko was a bit surprised, "Your friend owns a scrapyard? In Southern Los Angeles? That’s quite a coincidence! What’s the name of your friend’s scrapyard? It should be under contract with Pike Resource Company, right? I’m the Southern District Manager for Pike Resource Company! As long as you help me with this, I can help you!"
Allen eyed him suspiciously, "Are you sure? My friend’s scrapyard is called Alfred."
"Right! It’s under contract with us, but the person in charge seems to be Dominic?" Reko checked his files.
Allen nodded, "But I just invested money in his business for a share. Actually, I run a bar. You can look into Sunkist Bar, that’s my main business."
Reko did indeed find the location and qualifications of Sunkist Bar and hurriedly said, "There’s a scrapyard in the Sixth District; it’s in a great location. If you’re interested, I can transfer it directly to you! It won’t cost you a cent! Just help me out, and I can help your friend expand his business! In this industry, I know a lot of people!"
"You said it. What’s the name of that scrapyard?" Allen asked.
"Wally Recycling, it was previously owned by a friend of mine. I invested in it, but my friend left to pan for gold. He’s out of the business, and many people want this scrapyard! It’s located in the bustling area of the Sixth District! Just two streets down are the Sixth District police substation and Market Management Bureau. Ordinary people without enough connections could never do business there!"
Reko finally found a point of confidence, earnestly saying, "How about it? If you give me a hand, I can also help your friend expand his business! In this field, I have many contacts!"
