American Football: Domination Chapter 260

"NFL's rising star rushes headfirst into the embrace of the glitzy world." "Overconfident! Lance loses his way after just two consecutive wins."

"Venturing into nightlife, Lance finds the perfect mentor: LeBron James."

"Skipping practice for wild nights. The dazzling life of the big city has derailed Lance."

"After a breakout performance, Lance has succumbed to the fame and fortune of stardom."

"In the end, Lance has become just like every other young superstar we've seen—only faster than we expected."

"Alcohol. Parties. Revelry. This is how Lance prepares for games."

Lance: Excuse me, what?

He had only had dinner with LeBron, stayed sober the entire evening, and returned to the hotel by 9:30 PM. He even swam laps in the hotel pool for thirty minutes to unwind before going to bed. Yet somehow, the media had spun a completely different tale.

Of course, sensationalism has always been the media's bread and butter.

The Storm Headlines erupted like wildfire.

Once again, Lance dominated the media spotlight—but this time, the coverage stretched beyond the sports section, spilling into entertainment columns. The barrage of criticisms and ridicule was relentless, as if all of North America had focused its gaze on Lance overnight.

Within the sports community, figures like Bart wasted no time capitalizing on the situation. Putting on a show of impartial professionalism, Bart solemnly lamented on a popular talk show, visibly "pained" by Lance's so-called downfall.

"I had higher hopes for Lance. I never thought he would fall so fast," Bart declared with theatrical sorrow.

Bart had always maintained that Lance had much to prove. Two games weren't enough to establish himself, and consistency was key to earning a solid foothold in the NFL. His perspective—cautious and skeptical—was not uncommon, but now, this media storm felt like an open invitation to validate his stance.

"I'm not singling Lance out," Bart insisted, adopting a righteous tone. "This is a challenge faced by every young athlete—the siren song of fame and fortune, which whispers to their souls, luring them into darkness."

He wasn't entirely wrong. Stories of athletes succumbing to the pressures of fame and the allure of money, power, and pleasure were countless, spanning every major sport from football to baseball to basketball.

For Bart, the timing couldn't have been better.

"Perhaps, we are witnessing the early demise of another promising talent."

With that, Bart gazed forlornly into the distance, his dramatics bordering on parody.

Unsurprisingly, he predicted a loss for the Kansas City Chiefs in their upcoming matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

"This was supposed to be their moment," Bart lamented.

Explaining his prediction, Bart pointed to two factors:

The Chiefs had struggled in both previous victories, only pulling through in the fourth quarter. The distractions caused by Lance's off-field controversies. Though Bart firmly categorized the Chiefs as a "paper tiger," his opinion remained a minority view.

Most analysts doubted the Chargers' ability to stop the Chiefs. The Chargers had started the season with two consecutive losses and failed to show much competitiveness, while Andy Reid had earned trust through years of coaching brilliance.

Yet, even these professionals couldn't entirely dismiss the potential impact of distractions. Temptations of fame and fortune weren't limited to rookies; even seasoned veterans were susceptible.

The key question was, how would Lance respond?

The Center of the Storm For Lance, it was just another morning.

While he noticed the media frenzy, he didn't let it bother him. He knew how quickly the media could lift someone to glory one day and drag them through the mud the next. There was no point in basking in their praise or drowning in their criticism.

Even so, Lance was human. The endless stream of doubts and accusations inevitably planted seeds of frustration and self-doubt.

But Lance had his coping mechanism: focus.

Blocking out the noise and channeling energy into training and preparation was a time-tested solution in sports.

Victory silences critics.

One win could quell dissenting voices, and a streak of wins could drown them out entirely.

So, when Travis Kelce, visibly irate, sought to defend Lance, Lance was already unfazed.

"Media will be media," Kelce said, his voice raised slightly, ensuring his words echoed in the locker room.

"They'll take a sliver of truth, throw it under a magnifying glass, and turn it into a storm of scandal. But we know what really happened."

Kelce turned to Lance and added with a grin, "Man, the fact that you spent three hours in the gym last night scared the crap out of me."

By speaking up, Kelce aimed to preempt any potential locker room gossip. In his eyes, Lance was one of the most dedicated players on the team, and no one should believe otherwise.

Lance, as calm as ever, didn't seem the least bit rattled.

He had learned long ago that media attention was fleeting. Their stories could take you to the stars or bury you six feet under. The key was to stay grounded and let results speak for themselves.

Still, Lance couldn't resist a little humor.

He turned to Kelce with a playful glint in his eye.

"How about a little shuttle run challenge? I guarantee this so-called party animal who's still hungover can beat you. Care to try?"

His tone was light, filled with self-deprecation.

The locker room erupted in laughter and cheers, with players egging them on.

"Duel! Duel! Duel!" the team chanted.

Kelce smirked at Lance, the competitive fire in his eyes blazing. "You're on."

The locker room's energy surged, and the camaraderie tightened. Any chance of tension had been quashed before it could even take root.

And so, attention shifted back to the field.

Could Bart finally be right this time? Would his predictions about Lance and the Chiefs' performance come true?

The answer would soon unfold on game day.
