Ancestral Lineage Chapter 215

The world was still reeling from Ethan's latest conquest. The icy wasteland, once ruled by the Abyssal Warden, now lay silent beneath the shadow of its new master. Kaldaroth followed behind him, his massive frame now a spectral guardian, his once-defiant presence reduced to unwavering loyalty.

Ethan barely spared him a glance.

The hunt wasn't over.

The final spirit beast awaited.

A creature of sound and ice.

Ethan's aura flickered around him as he moved through the frozen plains, each step melting the ice beneath his feet. The landscape stretched endlessly in all directions, a vast, desolate expanse where even the wind carried a hollow, whispering song. The air was thick with frost, but there was something more—something hidden beneath the surface.

It was subtle at first.

A low, rhythmic hum vibrating through the ice.

Ethan paused, tilting his head. The frequency was unnatural as if the land itself was breathing, waiting for something. His lips curled into a grin.

"So, we're already playing games," he mused, glancing over his shoulder. "You feel that, Kaldaroth?"

The massive warden knelt, pressing a clawed hand to the ice. His abyssal eyes flickered. "Something stirs beneath us. It does not fear us. It watches."

Ethan exhaled sharply, his breath curling into mist. "Good. That means we're close."

He pressed forward, his pace unhurried, confident. The deeper he ventured, the stronger the vibrations became. They weren't just random pulses—no, this was something more deliberate. A message. A warning.

Then, without hesitation, Ethan slammed his foot into the ground.

The shockwave sent cracks racing outward, shattering the icy surface like fragile glass. The hum shifted in response, growing sharper, more focused. Ethan listened.

The sound wasn't coming from below.

It was coming from everywhere.

A growl echoed in the distance.

Low. Piercing. A primal challenge that made even the frozen plains quiver.

Ethan's grin widened. "There you are."

From the swirling frost ahead, a figure emerged.

Its body was sleek and powerful, covered in dark blue scales that shimmered like frozen ocean waves. Silver eyes locked onto Ethan with a gaze so sharp it could cut through stone. Its long, jagged wings crackled with frost, and its tail, lined with crystalline spikes, coiled like a whip. Every step it took left deep tremors in the ice, its very presence a symphony of destruction waiting to unfold.

Ethan rolled his shoulders. "Been looking for you."

The drake exhaled, and the air itself vibrated—a deep, sonorous note that sent waves of pressure rippling through the battlefield. Ice fractured. The sky itself seemed to shake.

To Ethan's left, another figure slithered into view.

This one was unlike the drake.

Its body was elongated, a fusion of canine and serpent. Its fur was sleek, and dark, its scales glinting with an unnatural sheen. Long, pointed ears twitched as it listened, and its piercing amber eyes glowed with a knowing intelligence. Its mouth parted slightly, revealing rows of jagged teeth, and when it moved, it did so with a fluid grace—silent yet deliberate.

Ethan exhaled slowly, eyes flicking between them.

One embodied raw destruction.

The other, precise control.

And they were both looking at him.

Kaldaroth stepped forward, his towering form casting a long shadow over the battlefield. His deep voice rumbled. "They acknowledge your presence, Master. But they will not yield easily."

Ethan smirked, cracking his knuckles as his energy surged once more, golden and black intertwining like twin storms.

Then he took a step forward.

"Wouldn't want it any other way."

The wind howled through the frozen expanse, carrying with it the resonant hum of the two beasts before him. The drake's silver eyes narrowed, analyzing Ethan with sharp, predatory focus, while the serpent-like beast coiled around itself, its elongated frame barely making a sound as it slithered over the ice.

Ethan cracked his neck.

"Two for one? Guess today's my lucky day."

Kaldaroth stood behind him like a frozen colossus, his abyssal eyes fixed on the creatures. "Their presence is not mere coincidence," he rumbled. "They are bound to this land. To challenge one is to challenge the other."

Ethan exhaled sharply, watching as his breath crystallized in the air. His golden energy flickered around him like a storm barely restrained. "Figures. Guess I'll have to beat them both into submission."

The drake responded first.

It lunged forward with terrifying speed, its wings propelling it across the battlefield in an instant. The moment it moved, the entire world seemed to shift—soundwaves rippled through the air, distorting space itself. Ethan barely had time to register the shift before the beast roared.

The shockwave hit like a hammer of pure force. The ice beneath Ethan shattered into fragments, sent flying by the sheer intensity of the sound. His ears rang, the pressure in the air so immense it threatened to crush everything in its path.

Ethan's smirk never wavered.

His golden aura flared.

In an instant, he twisted his body, avoiding the brunt of the blast. His foot met the shattered ice below, and with a burst of raw power, he launched himself forward.

His fist shot toward the drake's chest.

The impact sent another wave of destruction through the battlefield, forcing the beast back. But before Ethan could press the attack, the second beast struck.

A sharp, piercing sound rang through the air—so high-pitched it was almost imperceptible.

Tsk. Sound manipulation, huh?

The serpent-dog hybrid had released a frequency that disrupted his movements, locking him in place for just a fraction of a second. And that was all the drake needed.

With a powerful beat of its wings, the beast swung its tail like a battering ram.

Ethan was sent hurtling across the battlefield, his body carving through mountains of ice before he finally skidded to a stop. He exhaled sharply, steam rising from his form as his golden-black energy flickered violently.

For a brief moment, there was silence.

Low, deep, filled with something almost feral.

"Okay," Ethan muttered, rolling his shoulders as his wounds rapidly healed. He turned his gaze back to the two beasts, his eyes gleaming with dark amusement. "You two might actually be worth the trouble."

The drake let out another powerful roar, while the serpent-like beast bared its fangs, the air around it vibrating with lethal intent.

Ethan wiped a trickle of blood from his lip and grinned.

"Alright then." His aura exploded outward, the ice beneath him melting in an instant.

"Let's do this properly."
