Chapter 86: Chapter 3 Conflict
Lin Feng had not stayed in Mercenary Town for very long, because he needed to return home to visit his family. Having joined Jialan Academy for three years, he had not been home once, and Lin Feng missed his relatives dearly.
Lin Feng set off with the Fire Kirin, and after ten days, he arrived at East Town.
East Town was still a three-day journey away from Azure Cloud Town, where Lin Feng’s home was.
Lin Feng planned to rest for a day in East Town before continuing on.
Naturally, East Town was far less bustling than Mercenary Town and not as large as Azure Cloud Town.
Lin Feng’s family’s town, Azure Cloud Town, was very close to the Wilderness Jungle, making it an exceedingly busy town.
In recent years, the four leading families of Azure Cloud Town had jointly petitioned to upgrade the town to “Azure Cloud City,” and it seemed that the matter was under consideration.
As for East Town, it was just an ordinary little town that wasn’t near the Wilderness Jungle and lacked precious resources, so it served as a temporary resting place for travelers.
Lin Feng and the Fire Kirin walked through the main street of Azure Cloud Town.
“I think we should find a place to have a good meal first, then find somewhere to rest,” said the Fire Kirin.
This creature was quite a glutton; at the Mercenary Association, its kitchen had become the Fire Kirin’s battleground, leaving the chefs in tears, for the newly prepared food would vanish in the blink of an eye, all gobbled up by the Fire Kirin. This caused quite a commotion, and rumors of a haunting at the Mercenary Association spread wide.
Naturally, Lin Feng did not refuse the Fire Kirin’s minor request. He was hungry too, and said, “Then we shall find an inn and eat well.”
Lin Feng and the Fire Kirin headed towards an inn.

Just then, a group of about a dozen people riding Xuanhuang Steeds came galloping down the main street, causing chaos and panic.
Many people awkwardly scrambled out of the way.

“Who are these people, being so lawless?” Lin Feng frowned and muttered to himself.
Some passers-by heard Lin Feng’s murmuring, and their expressions darkened immediately.
“Kid, are you blind? You don’t recognize people from the Nalan Family? Daring to speak about the Nalan Family behind their backs, you’re courting death!”
One young master directly lashed his whip towards Lin Feng.
His whip slithered through the air like a poisonous snake, aiming for Lin Feng’s face.
Lin Feng reached out and caught the whip with his hand.
He said coldly, “The Nalan Family? The one from Azure Cloud Town?”
There were four major families in Azure Cloud Town!

With the support of the Nalan aristocratic family behind them, the Nalan Family had the greatest influence in Azure Cloud Town. Often, it took the combined efforts of the Lin Family, Su Family, and Wang Family to counteract the Nalan Family.
The Nalan Family harbored great ambitions, aiming to swallow the other three families and completely control Azure Cloud Town. Since Azure Cloud Town was the gateway to the Wilderness Jungle, it was very important. To control the town was to have a money-making treasure pot. Azure Cloud Town was bustling with countless mercenaries and adventurers who often brought out valuable items, such as herbs, Fierce Beast carcasses, and even treasures found in Cultivator Cave Mansions from the Wilderness Jungle.
“Boy, since you know the Nalan Family, yet you dare to resist, do you have a death wish? Let go now, kneel and apologize, and this young master might spare you. Otherwise, you’ll truly understand the dire consequences of offending me,” said the young master coldly.
Lin Feng recognized the young members of the Nalan Family, but he did not recognize this man, so he guessed this might be a relative by marriage to the Nalan Family.
Lin Feng was not afraid of the Nalan Family, let alone a mere in-law’s offspring.
“The Nalan family is also a major clan, is this how you teach your juniors to conduct themselves?” Lin Feng said coldly.
“You brat, who do you think you are? Daring to instruct the Nalan family on how to act? Do you want to die?” The fierce-looking expression appeared on the young man’s face.
“Given the group of trash like you, I’m afraid you’re not capable of dealing with me. Today, I shall properly educate the younger generation of the Nalan family on behalf of their elders.”
Lin Feng sneered and snatched the long whip from the other’s hand.
Lin Feng lashed out with the whip, striking the young man directly.

“Well done,” many people around shouted in praise.

These people’s arrogant and domineering actions had naturally made them reviled.
What Lin Feng did was immensely satisfying for many.
“Young master, are you all right?” The others hurriedly dismounted to help the stricken young man.
“Are you all dead? Didn’t you see I was hit? All of you, attack, capture this brat for me. I’ll make his life worse than death,” the young master issued a venomous roar, his narrow eyes filled with resentment as he glared at Lin Feng.
Following the young master’s command, his dozen or so guards charged at Lin Feng, looking ferocious and terrifying.
The Fire Kirin covered its eyes and exclaimed, “My eyes, my eyes, a bunch of trash, nothing more than borrowing a tiger’s might.”
But clearly, the guards did not think so; could they not deal with a single youth?
“You little punk, daring to hit our young master, you must have the gall of a bear and the heart of a leopard.”
The guards let out a fierce laugh, quickly moving towards Lin Feng.
All dozen or so guards made their move, attacking Lin Feng with full force.
As long as they could capture Lin Feng, they didn’t care if he was dead or alive.
“Young man, run quickly, these people are distant relatives of the Nalan family. To offend the Nalan family, that’s not something just anyone can afford,” someone in the crowd kindly advised Lin Feng.
“No worries,” Lin Feng responded softly.
Then, his gaze turned towards the dozen guards; Lin Feng’s face was filled with chilled determination, “To assist in tyranny is to deserve death.”
Everyone only perceived a blur flashing before their eyes.
Lin Feng’s fists moved like lightning, clashing against the guards.
With the sounds of violent collisions and bone-cracking mixing together, every guard, who acted against justice and looked menacing, was sent flying backward.
All dozen screamed in agony, with broken arms, clenched to their fractures, bellowing in unbearable pain.
