"Why am I feel like I got left out here?"
It's been an hour since we left the capital, I choose to sit on the back with Aura and let uncle Alto focus on the horses so they won't run away.
"Since when did you two got so close like this? this uncle is sad you know? it feels like that Aura-chan is still keeping distance to me and not you Erwin, what have you done to tame her like this?"
"What are you talking about uncle Alto?"
"Like I said, what did you do to her?"
"Maybe because I'm very kind and not rude like uncle Alto"
"You brat..."
I just burst out a laugh after teasing uncle Alto a bit, it's a payback for your rudeness before, uncle Alto, Aura choose me above you, it's my win, uncle.
"But well, it's a good thing that you can get along with someone Aura-chan, even it's Erwin, honestly, I would prefer you to get along with some other kid rather than getting along with this brat"
"E-Erwin-sa.. *mhh... Erwin is a good person, he's not scary too"
Aura, when she's shaking her head, is just so cute, I just can't get enough looking at that sparky hair of her and her silky skins makes you want to touch it every day, her her big round eyes that look slanted from afar makes her looks more elegant, and the time where she put on that smile on her face, she would instantly make every man fall under her magnificence.
"Did you brainwash her Erwin?"
"What do you mean uncle Alto?"
"How did she says that you aren't scary? even I feel terrified of you"
"Wait, what do you mean uncle Alto? how am I scary?"
"Well you know, you are just a damn genius, I know you since you a little, so I know you better than any other person as your sister did"
Uncle Alto got his point, he knows me since I'm still a baby, he also helps Ilya-nee to babysit me when he visited us, at least that's what Ilya-nee said before, I didn't doubt it, but, judging from uncle Alto's behavior towards me recently, I doubt it that he's such a caring person back then.
"I wish you could get along with Yuika, Aura-chan, or else she would bite you for getting too close with Erwin"
"Yuika-chan? why would she do that? she's a good girl, she won't bite anybody"
"Well, you probably don't understand what I'm talking about, but it seems that Aura-chan did understand it"
I look at Aura who is sitting across me is now looking down while fidgeting with her finger, I can feel the 'I made up my mind' vibe coming out from her, I tilt my head in confusion and turn my head and look at uncle Alto now.
"I think you have to understand it yourself, I won't say anything, and also, can you cast that 'wash away cold' magic to us? the weather is starting to get colder"
"It's a Cold Protection Magic"
"Well yea, whatever is it, I'm just referring to its function, so I'm not completely wrong, right?"
"Well, I guess you have the point"
I concentrate and cast the [ Cold Protection ] magic and cover up the whole cart from the cold air, I open my eyelids and see Aura is so astonished looking at me.
"What is it Aura?"
"A.. u-um I-it was so cool, that Erwin-sa... E-Erwin was able to cast magic in a short time"
I puff out my chest after getting all those praises all for myself.
"Don't get over yourself Erwin, she's able to use magic just like you, she's awesome too"
Oh uncle Alto, can you read the atmosphere, please? I'm happy here because I got praised by Aura, I cross my hands in front of my chest and throw away my face off uncle Alto, I don't want to look at uncle Alto's face now.
"B-but... Erwin is so awesome, I still can't use any elemental magic since my soul power is so weak..."
Ahh... thank you Aura for being on my side, let's just ignore this rude uncle and have chat with me.
"But that is still amazing though, I don't really understand this magic thing you kids were able to use, but your ability is something rare to find, not many people were able to use magic, and magicians usually have a brighter future"
"So that's the reason why that spiky-haired guy insisted you joining his party Aura?"
"I-I joined Reim-san's party because I need to make money, but I can't sign the adventurer contract yet, so I joined Reim-san's party in secret before, b-but I will always be so scared whenever I see a magical beast in front of me..."

Yeah, uncle Alto was right, Aura had bad memories and we shouldn't be reminding her about it.
"Why won't you try to learn elemental magic, Aura?"
"I-I would instantly fall on my knees because my energy will be drained..."
I got instantly fainted when I use my power too much, I guess I should be careful and practice more, maybe I can practice together with Aura and maybe I can help her to power up her soul power, it would be like hitting two birds with one stone, yeah, this is a good plan.
I just keep smiling and humming without me knowing, uncle Alto then throws something at me to wake me up from my daydreaming.
"You must be thinking something indecent, don't get over yourself"
"Yeah.. yeah..."
I rub my left cheek after uncle Alto threw something and hit it right on my face, what is wrong? I was just thinking about how fun it would be to have someone to practice with, I can't bother Ilya-nee every day to help me learn magic, at least I can help Aura too while I'm practicing.
