Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes Chapter 32

It had been almost an hour since Atlas had fallen asleep. Dumgrith had finally managed to get out of his own room, and after a short time, he managed to gather the academy’s head professors in Cordelia’s parlour.

Everyone was waiting with great curiosity for what Dumgrith had to say. The old elf looked solemnly at the people around him and then placed the magic stone that Atlas had carved for him on the table.

Six people were standing around the table. Abraham and Dumgrith, the five most powerful mages in the academy after Cordelia, were in the hall.

Cordelia stood up with great curiosity and then reached for the magic stone on the table and then held it in her hand and began to examine it.

"The craftsmanship of the runes is excellent...However, I can’t say that I know much about what these runes mean. I am only aware of the [K] rune in the centre of the stone. If I am not mistaken, it must represent the word [Open] in the ancient language. Where did you get this stone, Dumgrith?"

When Cordelia said these words, Dumgrith smiled and then shook his head and said, "It cost such a fortune I shall say, my lady. If you knew what this stone was for, you would even think of making the whole academy on me."

Cordelia smiled with great curiosity and then said, "Is that so? Tell me then."

Shrugging his shoulders at that moment, Dumgrith pointed to the magic stone in Cordelia’s hand and then said, "This stone, my lady, is a stone with runes that open the locks of secret dungeons, those dungeons that cannot be unlocked even when they are found."

Hearing these words, each of the professors at first clearly thought that Dumgrith had lost his mind. After all, even Cordelia, the first Sage and perhaps the person most seriously connected with magic and ancient culture in this world, had never encountered such magic.

There were different types of dungeons.

There were room-type dungeons, world-type dungeons, secret-type dungeons, destruction-type dungeons and many other types of dungeons. Many of these dungeons could be found in the world with naked eyes and many of them were even used by kingdoms and empires for training.

Among these dungeons, the so-called ’secret type’ dungeons would be just like the dungeons unlocked by Atlas in Frozen Marrows.

These dungeons would not even make anyone feel their existence with a 99% probability. They functioned as if they were living organisms. Nevertheless, some of them let out small images, feelings, magic power, and sometimes, as in the case of the dead tree, things that could be considered a curse in the eyes of others.

So the stone Atlas had given to Professor Dumgrith was the very thing that would break the locking system that even Cordelia didn’t know how to use.

Atlas hadn’t sold the information, the runes on the stone had a pattern, even the letter [K] that Atlas had put at the beginning. So it would be very difficult to recreate this stone unless he taught it to someone for sure.

Dumgrith was the only person in the world who had the key to unlock it.

"Where did... where did you get it?" Abraham suddenly asked with great curiosity, straightening himself in his seat and looking directly at Dumgrith’s face.

"As I said, it was quite expensive. I don’t even know how this stone was produced and what kind of magic was left on the runes. I had to give one of the white fruits of the world tree in return," Dumgrith suddenly replied.

He could not imagine what these words said to those in the room. They looked at each other with great surprise, and then Cordelia said calmly, "Atlas..."

When Dumgrith shook his head, Cordelia added, "And how about this?"

"I don’t know. What I do know is that its potential is vast. You know what that means. We won’t be the only ones to realise his potential. We know what’s likely to happen at the Academy. The worshippers of demons and angels will certainly follow him. We must be careful," Dumgrith replied.

These words were a lesson to everyone and at the same time a duty. Indeed, Atlas had managed to reveal many things even before he started school.

He may have managed to gather a great deal of confidence around him, but even if there were more than a hundred professors in the academy, a small part of them were already filled with demon worshippers.

So each of them had to do whatever they could to prevent Atlas from joining any side. They all knew how fucked up the world was. Every one of them knew how lucky the Epsilon empire was and how fortunate they were to be so huge and yet so peaceful.

Still, that didn’t mean that no evil could exist here.

In this case, Atlas had to be well protected and, if necessary, everything he asked for had to be fulfilled, perhaps then not only humanity but the whole world would have a great hero.

What they didn’t know was that Atlas’ sense of heroism was long dead. He didn’t really care about anything. The human world could burn and anyone who wronged him could perish in the dark flames of hell.

In this case, the six people currently in Cordelia’s parlour had to take a gamble. If Atlas was someone with such deep knowledge, if he was someone who could utilise both magic and aura to their fullest potential, then the future of the academy and even the future of the world could be in his hands.

On that day, one day before the opening of the academy, the six people in the hall exchanged enough glances. They knew they could trust each other, and they could decide what to do in this situation.

The academy had to be purified, even if they didn’t know who worshipped whom, they knew one thing:

[Atlas had to be protected.]
