"Looks like they froze to death; the vehicle has been engulfed by the snow."
Chen Sixuan said with a complex expression, "In such heavy snow, it’s basically hard to get the vehicle moving unless it’s a specially modified one."
"Could it be the people from the caravans last night?" KIKI asked.
"If it were Big Eagle Caravan with their caterpillar polar cars, they might be able to clear obstacles and keep moving forward, but another issue is the energy," Lin Xian said in a deep voice, "At minus 50 degrees, an ordinary car engine won’t restart once it shuts off, and you have to maintain the heating at all times. Without sufficient energy, even electric power has difficulty sustaining long-term in this frozen world."
The snow was continuously shoveled aside by the Ice-breaking Shield as Infinity continued advancing. By the time it was 11:30, the sky was bright, and the blizzard had ceased, leaving the world all white.
Apart from the howling wind, the sparkling white snow reflected dazzling light, instantly illuminating the entire interior of Infinity.
Everyone couldn’t help but shield their eyes.
"The entire grassland has become a snowfield," Chen Sixuan looked out as far as the eye could see, all was a sea of white.
Lin Xian looked at the heavy snow outside; the silver-white snow sea stretched unbroken as far as he could see, and he could only sigh, "In this situation, there are still Snow Demons, and even snow waters and black-darkness poison encroachment. Surviving here is no easy talk."
Infinity was like a worm continuously advancing in the snow layers, wriggling forward along the tracks, vigorously pushing through the snow.
It moved from night to day, encountering neither Snow Demons nor any Abnormal Bodies—such an occurrence was very atypical.
With doubt and vigilance, the train did not stop moving. Soon, Lin Xian saw a small town platform ahead, with a cluster of buildings covered in snow in the distance. The frozen sign still had "Dalate Station" written on it.
Chen Sixuan suddenly spoke up. Lin Xian and KIKI looked in the direction she pointed, only to see a large number of cars appearing one after another at an open space in front of the platform. They were all survivor vehicles, modified. Some gathered on high ground, while others were next to the buried road leading to the town. The tall billboards by the roadside had numerous bullet holes and frozen Snow Demon corpses.
This didn’t seem to be just one caravan but consisted of multiple caravans, with dozens of cars farther away.
In the front were a few large heavy trucks and modified caterpillar snowplows responsible for clearing the path, but it seemed they had faced some terrifying attacks. Two of the heavy trucks were even dented, twisted, and bent by some massive force.
After these large trucks perished, those dozens of wheels-driven post-apocalyptic cars trying to escape further away soon sank into the snow, tilted in disarray. Over the night, all the vehicles were covered in thick snow, with red bloodstains on the sides frozen by the low temperatures. It was clear that the battle didn’t happen long ago, but no signs of life could be found on the entire hillside and road, all frozen by the extreme cold.
"Looks like it was those four caravans last night; judging by the snow, they likely died before the blizzard ceased," Chen Sixuan said.
"They have so many path-clearing vehicles, and their equipment is considered excellent, no wonder they got this far," KIKI frowned in confusion, "Huh, why do I feel like they encountered more than just Snow Demons? Look, Lin Xian, those vehicles were smashed flat. Snow Demons shouldn’t have such strength, right?"
"Teacher Chen," Lin Xian’s eyes were aching from the glaring white snow, and he pointed to a strange place in the distance, asking Chen Sixuan, "Is there something over there?"
Chen Sixuan immediately understood and took out Meteor 3, adjusting the sight to filter mode to look towards Lin Xian’s pointing direction.
Soon, her brow started to furrow.
In the sight, on top of a snow-covered building in the distant town, there hung an object resembling a monster’s wing. The entire body was white-gray, terrifying and ferocious, covered in snow and ice. A half wing drooped from the side of the building, looking like a huge wall-sized billboard, covering well over half the structure. The wingtip touched the snow, making it impossible to see the entire shape clearly.
Seeing this scene, Chen Sixuan’s face became grave, and she immediately described it to the two.
"Only half a wing, don’t know what the main body is, but this size definitely belongs to a large Abnormal Body."
Chen Sixuan put down the scope and said to Lin Xian and KIKI, "It could very well be an A-level or S-Class Abnormal Body."
Upon hearing this, KIKI’s eyes widened, "This caravan was so impressive; they actually managed to break a large Abnormal Body’s wing. Is there a chance they eliminated the Abnormal Body?"
"Didn’t see anything else," Chen Sixuan shook her head and said to Lin Xian, "Only that one wing structure was visible."
In the sky above, the Extreme Cold Vortex covered the sky, with sunlight spilling through gaps in the thick clouds. Lin Xian spoke gravely, "There must be numerous things that came out from Star Abyss within the blizzard; this heavy snow and vortex act as a natural screen. We need to leave as soon as possible, or we’ll eventually encounter what these guys did."
Infinity charged through the platform, knocking over a large number of snow-covered supports and vehicles parked on the tracks, causing sparks to fly and metallic buzzes to resonate around.
