Apocalypse: I Build A Doomsday Train Chapter 655

Shu Qin said, "If dozens of Blood Essence are exchanged for supplies, it’s enough for a month, no wonder these sand bandits are so crazy."

Lin Xian looked at Shu Qin: "No news yet?"

Shu Qin shook her head: "Not at the moment, that Brother Dadao said he’s still squeezing, but one of the seven people has already died. He also wanted me to ask you if you could keep them alive for a few nights, because they still have dozens of brothers..."

"Whatever, whatever!"

Lin Xian immediately raised his hand to stop Shu Qin from speaking further, saying with a dark expression on his face: "These people are of no value to us anymore, just don’t let them escape, whatever."

"Alright." Shu Qin showed a peculiar smile but said no more.

KIKI, upon hearing this, made a disgusted ’yuck’ sound, smacking her lips at Lin Xian: "Really, disgusting."

"You can’t say that." Lin Xian took a deep breath: "All things of heaven and earth counter each other, dealing with these rapists, isn’t this the best punishment?"

"Besides, the enemy suffers, but our teammates rejoice!"

"Yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

KIKI’s brows furrowed tightly, shrinking her chin as she looked at Lin Xian: "I don’t want teammates like that..."

Lin Xian smiled helplessly, then turned to Shu Qin. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novel•fire.net

"By the way, news with those Windwalker Team people outside."

Windwalker Team, the bus convoy that was raided, was now quietly parked beside the Joint Train on the Gobi Desert. Lin Xian had also briefed them on the sand ants’ situation, and now this team was prepared accordingly.

"Alright." Shu Qin glanced at Lin Xian, understanding his intention, then turned and left.

As night approached, Chen Sixuan had already arranged for food distribution to the entire train; now each bottle of water had to last two days. Everyone was aware of the current water scarcity; even in the heat, they didn’t dare to drink water boldly.

In the wilderness, each compartment of the Joint Train began closing its windows and blinds, and a tense atmosphere started to rise inside the carriages.

Lin Xian closed the passage gates of each compartment and then joined Chen Sixuan in the cockpit, looking out the window to the Gobi Desert as nightfall was imminent.

In the desolate Gobi Desert, the world seemed to only hold the sound of wind sweeping sand grains, yellow sand hitting the train compartments and windows, making a dry shasha sound.

Lin Xian and Chen Sixuan sat quietly on either side, waiting for the night, communications among the other teams of the Joint Train quieting down, everyone watching the time.

"Remember when we first left Jiang City, we also waited for night to fall."

Lin Xian watched Chen Sixuan’s cautious face, unable to resist speaking.

Back then, Chen Sixuan was still a college teacher who had just grabbed a lifeline amidst despair, curled in the cockpit corridor corner, holding the bread Lin Xian gave her.

While Lin Xian was holding a short knife, listening to the zombies scratching outside and staying vigilant.

Chen Sixuan glanced sideways at him and then turned away: "Though there isn’t a Dark Mark, I still feel uneasy in such a vast, open space."

She said as she looked far into the wilderness deep, her gaze slightly condensed.

The world was too vast, the horizon too far, and in the empty uninhabited area, Chen Sixuan felt a sense of crowding even more than in the town, and she didn’t know why she felt this, realizing it frightened herself.

Lin Xian glanced over too, his breath also sinking.

Beep beep, beep beep.

The wristwatch’s notification sound abruptly rang in the quiet carriage, the sound faint yet seemingly resonating throughout the miles of wilderness before night fell.

"It’s going to get dark."

Above the sky, a sweeping tide-like light shone past, like a curtain of stars unfurling quickly.

The next moment, the world went dark.

The setting sun hadn’t settled beneath the horizon, yet the entire Western Desert prematurely entered darkness.

The starlit sky seemed obscured by some chaos, less vivid.

The earth was dead silent.

Everyone held their breath in this moment.

Lin Xian and Chen Sixuan sat quietly in the cockpit, seemingly only able to hear their heartbeats.

Then, the wind suddenly began to rise and gradually a sound of fine rain emerged.

"Is it raining?" Lin Xian furrowed his brow slightly.

Chen Sixuan looked at the dark window outside, saying seriously.

"It’s the sound of the earth."

In the living carriage, the lights went out long ago, the children held their breath, not daring to make a sound.

Duo Duo lay on a pillow, peering through the blinds’ gaps at the outside dark horizon. The rain sound seemed to grow louder, from a fine drizzle to bean-like downpour, yet no water markings appeared on the window.

She stared intently at it, suddenly a strange insect crawled onto the window outside, quickly crawling across like a tailed spider, but smaller than a thumb, impossible to see clearly.

She felt the little bug constantly twisting, transforming, yet simultaneously climbing rapidly outside the window.

Duo Duo gasped, shrinking her neck.

The next moment, more black bugs crawled across the window, gradually densely packed, the rain sound changing from shower to storm!
