Apocalypse: I Have A Multiplier System Chapter 213

Chapter 213: Chapter 213: Misunderstanding Chapter 213: Chapter 213: Misunderstanding Chen Mu ran as fast as he could.

However, his speed was still lagging compared to the superhumans chasing him.

The relentless pursuit of Dong Shin’s superhuman subordinates left him no room to breathe, and no time to think.

He cursed under his breath, wondering how everything had gone so horribly wrong.

Just hours ago, he had been in negotiations with the Aurora Base’s leader, a meeting that seemed straightforward—until it wasn’t.

The Aurora Base’s leader had been polite, even amicable, at first.

But when Chen Mu introduced himself, he noticed the man’s expression shift—a fleeting look of recognition and something darker: suspicion.

Yet, the leader had masked it well, asking Chen Mu to wait while he attended to “urgent matters.” What could have been more urgent than their deal?

Chen Mu should have known better.

But trusting his instincts had failed him before, and he’d obliged, waiting in the small, dimly lit room.

Time ticked by, and unease grew in his chest.

He considered leaving but thought better of it.

Then, the door burst open.

The first thing he noticed was the uniforms—military-issued, unmistakably Dong Shin’s men.

The second was the raw, focused intensity in their eyes.

They weren’t here for pleasantries.

“Chen Mu,” one of them said, voice cold and unforgiving.

“You’re under arrest for treason against General Dong Shin.” Treason?

The word sent shockwaves through Chen Mu’s mind.

Somehow, Dong Shin had found out about the expired food supplies.

He had promised to give Dong Shin all of his supplies but later greed appeared in his heart and he couldn’t bear to part with the food, so he gave the expired food supplies to Dong Shin instead.

Adrenaline surged as they advanced, their enhanced physiques radiating menace He shouted to his closest subordinate, Jin Wei, who had accompanied him to the meeting.

“Teleport me out of here!

Now!” Jin Wei hesitated for only a moment before activating his power, grabbing Chen Mu’s arm, and vanishing in a flash of light.

When they reappeared, they were in the dense forest on the outskirts of the Aurora Base.

But they hadn’t gone far enough.

A sharp sound echoed through the trees—Dong Shin’s subordinates had tracked them.

“Chen Mu!” one of them shouted.

Surrender now, and the general might show you mercy!” Mercy?

He scoffed bitterly, his lungs burning.

Dong Shin didn’t know the meaning of the word.

If they catch me, I’m as good as dead.

Branches scraped at his face as he sprinted through the forest.

His body screamed for rest, but he couldn’t stop.

He had to think of something.

However, luck was truly not on his side and he was soon caught and brought to the military.

Jin Wei had long ago run away in the opposite direction to him.

The moment Chen Mu was shoved into Dong Shin’s private office, the oppressive atmosphere bore down on him.

Dong Shin sat at a large oak desk, his uniform was immaculate, every button perfectly aligned.

His dark eyes were sharp, calculating, and cold like a predator sizing up its prey.

Chen Mu stumbled forward, his wrists bound tightly behind his back, his captors gripping his arms with unrelenting strength.

He fell to his knees, his legs buckling under exhaustion and fear.

“General Dong Shin,” Chen Mu began, his voice trembling as he bowed his head.

“Please, let me explain—” Dong Shin raised a hand, silencing him instantly.

The room was deathly quiet except for the faint hum of the air conditioning.

Dong Shin’s lips curled into a cruel smile, though his eyes betrayed no amusement.

“I don’t need your explanations,” Dong Shin said, his voice like ice.

“Your actions speak louder than words.

Do you take me for a fool, Chen Mu?” Chen Mu opened his mouth to respond, but before he could speak, Dong Shin stood up abruptly.

His imposing figure loomed over Chen Mu, and with one swift motion, he slammed his fist into Chen Mu’s face.

The force of the blow sent Chen Mu sprawling to the floor.

Blood dripped from his nose as pain erupted through his skull.

“Do you know what I despise the most, Chen Mu?” Dong Shin asked, his tone eerily calm as he adjusted the cuffs of his sleeves.

Especially from someone as insignificant as you.” “Please, General,” Chen Mu croaked, his voice barely audible.

“I didn’t mean to—” Another blow landed, this time to his stomach.

The air was forced out of his lungs, and he gasped, curling into himself in agony.

Dong Shin’s expression remained stoic, as though he were simply disciplining an unruly child.

“You think I didn’t know about your little deal with Boss Su?” Dong Shin sneered, pacing slowly around Chen Mu.

“You thought you could feed me expired supplies, pocket the rest, and then go running to that snake?

Did you truly believe I wouldn’t find out?” Chen Mu’s eyes widened in confusion.

He never had any deal with Boss Su.

Does Dong Shin have some misconceptions about him?

Or maybe it is a misunderstanding!

“Pathetic,” Dong Shin spat, his voice dripping with disdain.

He leaned down, grabbing Chen Mu by the collar and forcing him to look into his eyes.

“You knew what betrayal meant under my rule.

And yet, you still chose to betray me.

You must be even dumber than I thought.” “General you are misunderstanding me, I never-” Chen Mu opened his mouth to explain but Dong Shin’s glare silenced him.

He shoved Chen Mu back onto the floor with disgust.

“Shut him up,” Dong Shin barked at his subordinates.

One of them stepped forward, shoving a cloth into Chen Mu’s mouth to muffle his protests.

Dong Shin turned his back to Chen Mu, his hands clasped behind him as he stared out of the window.

I don’t care how you deal with him—just make it painful.

Let this be a lesson to anyone else who thinks they can cross me.” As Chen Mu was dragged out of the room, his muffled cries faded into the distance.
