Apocalypse: I Have A Multiplier System Chapter 319

Chapter 319: Chapter 319: Ren And Mei Chapter 319: Chapter 319: Ren And Mei “But can we trust her?” someone else asked, fear evident in their voice.

“Right now, it’s either we trust her or we take our chances with the zombie tide,” Ge Chunli replied firmly.

Before the people could come to a decision, a loud, panicked voice cut through the tense atmosphere.

It was Ge Chunli’s daughter, Ge Lin, sprinting toward the group, her face pale with fear.

Father!” she cried, gasping for breath.

They’re already at the defense wall!

There’s almost 2,000 zombies, maybe more!” The crowd erupted into nervous whispers.

Fear crept into everyone’s eyes as they processed Lin’s words.

How could they possibly hold off that many?

“We can’t survive for three days at this rate!” Ge Lin added, her voice shaking with terror.

“We have to do something now, or we’re all going to die!” Despite the seriousness of the situation, some people in the crowd didn’t believe her.

One of the men, Xu Wei, stepped forward, his face twisted in anger and suspicion.

“This is a trick!” he shouted, pointing an accusing finger at Ge Chunli.

“You and your daughter are trying to make the situation sound worse than it really is!

You want to scare us so we’ll agree to give up our land to Boss Su!” Several others in the crowd murmured in agreement, nodding along with Xu Wei.

“You’re just trying to collude with Su Jiyai!” Xu Wei continued.

“You want to hand over all our land to her so you can get a cut of the deal!” Ge Chunli’s eyes narrowed, but he stayed calm, his face hardening with resolve.

He took a deep breath before speaking, her voice cold and steady.

“Xu Wei, if you think I’m lying, then why don’t you come with me?” he said, his eyes locking onto Xu Wei’s.

“Let’s go to the defense wall.

You can see for yourself.” Xu Wei hesitated, glancing at the crowd for support.

But they were all waiting for his response.

Finally, with a huff, he nodded.

Let’s go see this so-called ‘zombie tide’ you’re talking about.” Ge Chunli turned to the rest of the group.

“The rest of you can come too.

See the reality for yourselves.” The crowd murmured, some looking worried, others still suspicious, but most of them followed as Ge Chunli led the way to the defense wall.

The walk felt long, with tension thick in the air, but soon, they reached the top of the wall, overlooking the barren lands outside Rover Base.

And there, just a short distance away, was the zombie tide.

A sea of undead stretched across the horizon, their rotting bodies staggering toward the base, their low growls and moans filling the air like an eerie symphony.

The sight of thousands of zombies, packed so tightly together, made everyone’s heart race.

Xu Wei’s eyes widened in horror as he took in the sheer number of zombies.

“This… this can’t be real,” he whispered, but the fear in his voice betrayed his disbelief.

Suddenly, a scream pierced the air from below the wall.

Everyone looked down to see two siblings, Ren and Mei, running back toward the base from a scouting mission.

Who were Ren and Mei?

One of the most powerful hunters of their base.

Ren and Mei were not even over 16, yet they survived and were dependent on each other to slowly become powerful.

They had been outside when the tide hit, and now they were caught in the middle of it.

Please, help us!” Mei screamed, tears streaming down her face as she and her brother tried to outrun the zombies.

But the undead were too many, too fast.

The tide swallowed them up.

“No!” Ren shouted, swinging his weapon wildly as zombies grabbed at him.

“We don’t want to die!

Please, someone, help!” But it was too late.

The zombies overwhelmed them, dragging them to the ground.

Their screams echoed in the air for what felt like an eternity, and then there was only silence.

The crowd on the wall stood frozen, their faces pale, watching in stunned silence as the tide surged closer.

Ren and Mei were gone, turned into zombies in the blink of an eye.

It was as if the world had stopped moving.

The sea of undead stretched out in front of them, unstoppable, merciless.

The base members felt their hearts pound in their chests.

Many began to shake, and some whispered prayers under their breath, hoping for a miracle.

Ge Chunli turned to the crowd, her expression grave.

“Do you believe me now?” he asked quietly, his voice filled with sorrow and urgency.

They were all too stunned, too terrified.

Xu Wei, who had been so quick to accuse Ge Chunli of lying, was now silent, his face pale as he stared out at the horde of zombies closing in.

“We don’t have time to argue anymore,” Ge Chunli continued.

“If we don’t make a decision now, we won’t survive this.

And Boss Su is our only chance.” The base members stood in silence, processing the grim reality before them.

It was Xu Wei, the man who had been so quick to accuse Ge Chunli, who finally broke the tension.

I agree,” Xu Wei stammered, his voice barely audible, but the weight of his words carried through the group.

He looked at Ge Chunli with a mixture of guilt and fear.

We can’t fight this alone.” One by one, the other members of the base nodded in agreement, their faces pale but resolute.

The sight of Ren and Mei being swallowed by the zombie tide had shaken them to their core.

The truth was undeniable: they couldn’t survive this without help.

Ge Chunli felt a small surge of relief at their decision.

He hadn’t wanted it to come to this, but now that they had all agreed, there was at least a chance—however small—that they could survive.
