Apocalypse: I Have A Multiplier System Chapter 488

Chapter 487: Chapter 487: Light Of The World

The Seven Devils froze.

Crow turned toward the Devil. “My Lord?”

The Devil rose slowly from his throne at last, his dark cloak dragging across the floor like spilled ink. For the first time, the temperature in the room truly dropped.

Frost started creeping across the walls. The shadows thickened.

“He gave her a gift,” the Devil growled, his eyes glowing faintly red under the hood. “A protection spell. A failsafe. Something even she didn’t know about.”

Veil’s lips twisted in frustration. “But he is dead now…”

“That is the reason why he could protect her… he once had the potential to be the Light of the World. Now after death, he must have wished dearly to protect this b*tch Queen and hence this barrier was created.” the Devil snapped, his voice sharp enough to pierce steel.

Silence fell instantly.

Crow stepped forward again, cautious. “Can we break it?”

The Devil’s jaw clenched beneath the shadows.

“No. Not easily. It’s bound to her core and his frequency. You touch that barrier and you will die.”

“So what now?” Veil asked, stepping around the edge of the glowing barrier.

“We can only wait for the next 1 hour for the barrier to wear out.” The Devil replied.

Crow frowned. “Then we’ll wait. One hour isn’t that long.”

But the Devil shook his head slowly, the shadows around him deepening.

“No,” he said. “I cannot stay that long.”

The Seven Devils turned toward him in unison.

“I have other realms to attend to. I’ll be leaving in thirty minutes,” the Devil said coldly. “Before that… I want that soul found and destroyed.”

Veil’s eyes narrowed. “But the barrier—”

“I don’t care,” the Devil snapped, his voice cracking like thunder. “Break it. Rip it apart. Now.”

The Seven Devils didn’t argue. They spread out, surrounding the glowing bubble of light around Madam Queen’s body.

Scythe cracked his knuckles. “Let’s make this quick.”

With a roar, he struck first, his shadow-coated fist slamming into the barrier. The entire dome shuddered, but held firm.

The others followed. Veil unleashed dark tendrils. Elisha launched jagged spears of ice. Crow summoned a storm of black feathers, each one like a blade. One after another, they threw everything they had at the glowing shield.

Inside the bubble, Madam Queen remained unmoving, her eyes closed, her body limp.

The Devil stood still, watching the chaos calmly. But his eyes were not on the barrier.

They were on her hand.

Slowly, his gaze narrowed in.

“There…” he whispered.

He raised his hand, fingers twitching with eerie precision.

“The ring. That’s where he’s hiding.”

He closed his eyes, focusing hard. Darkness spiraled from his palm, coiling through the air like a serpent. It brushed against the barrier and recoiled—but not before sensing something.

“A soul signature,” he murmured. “Tiny. Curled up like a rat in a corner.”

He opened his eyes again, burning faintly red beneath his hood.

Meanwhile, the Devils were growing weary. Twenty minutes had passed, and the once-blazing shield was now dimmer. Cracks were starting to spiderweb across its glowing surface.

Elisha stumbled back, breathing hard. “It’s weakening.”

“Keep going!” Veil hissed.

At the 25-minute mark, the dome pulsed—then dimmed noticeably. The light flickered.

Scythe grinned. “We’re almost there.”

But all of them were panting now. Their auras were flickering, their powers strained from the constant barrage.

“Twenty-eight minutes,” Crow muttered.

A loud CRACK echoed as another fracture spread across the barrier.

Then—at twenty-nine minutes—BOOM!

The shield shattered like glass, sending a shockwave through the chamber.

“Now!” the Devil barked, his eyes locked on Madam Queen’s left hand.

His arm raised—shadow energy surging like a spear—aimed directly at her finger.

But before the attack could land—

Madam Queen’s eyes snapped open.

In a flash, she rolled away, barely avoiding the strike. The energy blast scorched the floor where her hand had just been.

She gasped, confused and afraid, her voice hoarse.

“Wh-What’s going on?! Why are you attacking me?!”

The Devil’s gaze turned toward her slowly, his expression unreadable beneath his hood.

She staggered to her feet, wobbling slightly. “I… I don’t understand… What did I do?!”

She raised her hand, trying to summon her energy, but the Devil didn’t even flinch.

He raised his hand again.

His body froze in place.

He glanced down, almost annoyed.

A swirl of black mist began to rise around him, shadows gathering like a cloak of smoke.

“You’re lucky,” he said quietly, voice now lower, almost calm.

He turned to the Seven Devils, who were still catching their breath.

“You. Kill her,” he commanded. “And destroy the soul hiding inside her ring.”

“But—” Elisha hesitated. “She’s awake—”

“I don’t care if she’s dancing,” the Devil snapped. “She’s useless to me now. Finish it.”

And with that, the Devil’s form dissolved into mist, vanishing into the darkness.

The chamber fell silent for a moment.

Then Scythe cracked his neck. “Well… orders are orders.”

Madam Queen’s eyes widened in horror. “No! Wait—please—!”

Crow stepped forward, his eyes cold. “No more waiting.”

Before the Seven Devils could take another step, a sudden pulse of energy flared from Madam Queen’s ring.

A low chant echoed—words from a dead language, whispered through the soul.

Crow’s eyes narrowed. “What is that—?”

A blinding light burst from the ring.

The air around Madam Queen twisted like a whirlpool, glowing symbols flaring briefly in the air.

Then, in a blink, both Qin Feng’s soul and Madam Queen vanished.

The Seven Devils froze mid-step.

“Sh*t! They escaped!”

Su Jiyai sat beside a bed, tightly holding Qin Feng’s hand. Her eyes were rimmed with red, her body tense with worry.

“Please…” she whispered. “Just wake up.”

The next moment—Qin Feng stirred.

His fingers twitched.

Su Jiyai gasped, eyes wide. “Qin Feng?!”

His eyes fluttered open, slow and dazed. “Jiy…Boss Su?”

She didn’t wait. She threw her arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug.

“You idiot!” she choked, her voice trembling. “You were supposed to leave! You should have run when you had the chance! Why did you stay?!”
