Apocalypse: I have a supermarket stocked with supplies Chapter 300

Su Linglong felt that for her and her son, encountering Su Yinhe and Galaxy Supermarket was the biggest stroke of luck they could have in this lifetime.

"Boss Su, I always feel that if we hadn’t met you, Su An and I might have already died. I don’t even know what good deeds I did in my past life to deserve our meeting," Su Linglong would often say this to Su Yinhe.

Sometimes Su Yinhe would feel it was a bit cheesy, but other times, she thought Su Linglong was a genuinely good person.

Saying things that made others feel comfortable.

Therefore, she was more than happy to give them various things.

Whenever she gave them something, Su Linglong and Su An would be very grateful.

And they would say all sorts of nice things.

Who could refuse a little boy thanking you with a "Thank you, sister"?

Certainly, not Su Yinhe.

Her willpower was incredibly weak, unable to refuse the pitiful Chi Yan, as well as the little boy’s heartfelt "Thank you, sister."

She really was someone with very weak willpower.

Su Yinhe reproached herself in her heart.

Then, she continued to fall.

Su Linglong felt like these days were like a dream.

She often had a very surreal feeling, occasionally waking up in shock in the middle of the night, afraid it was all just a dream.

At those moments, she would go over and touch every piece of their supplies one by one.

Only when she felt their texture in her hand would she feel a sense of realness.

Su Linglong frequently woke up unless she was truly exhausted and slept too soundly.

Su An noticed that often in the night, his mother would get up, grope in the dark, and touch their stored supplies one by one.

"Mom," Su An called out to her once again after discovering her awake and touching those supplies.

"Anan. Why are you awake too? Did Mom wake you?"

"No, I just can’t sleep," Su An lied.

"Then... let’s have some supper," Su Linglong lit a candle.

Where they lived now, there was no electricity anymore.

Su Linglong had seen some small lamps at the supermarket, but she was a Water Element Superpower User, not a Thunder Power User.

She couldn’t charge the little lamps.

They were nice, but not cost-effective.

And while they were lovely and bright, they just weren’t worth it.

Though batteries could be bought, for Su Linglong, they were simply too expensive.

With a heavy heart, Su Linglong had to pass them up.

It wasn’t that she didn’t love the lamps, but that candles were more cost-effective.

And candles were cheap.

Straightaway, Su Linglong bought a box.

They weren’t that bright, but they didn’t usually need such bright lights for their minimal nighttime activities.

The dimness was fine, actually.

And it had a certain atmosphere.

"Supper?" Su An cocked his head, looking at her.

Su An still didn’t grasp the concept of supper.

"Yes, we’re going to have supper," Su Linglong, seeing her son , felt a pang of heartache.

"Supper... is that eating food at night?" Su An pondered for a moment, then brightened up as he looked at Su Linglong.

The silly child didn’t even understand what supper meant.

"Yes." Su Linglong was full of sorrow.

For supper, they had instant noodles.

Su Linglong indulged and added a braised egg and sausage to the noodles, and she even took out a pan, frying an egg and some green vegetables.

Especially the vegetables, she added a lot.

Now that conditions were better, she focused on health.

Children need to eat more greens to grow tall.

Su An looked at the brimming greens in the instant noodles, biting his fork, deep in thought.

"Mom, do I really have to eat these greens?" He remembered these vegetables were a gift from Brother Lin.

Who said children need to eat more greens.

Brother Lin usually gave pretty good stuff, just not this time.

They received a basket of green vegetables.

With the weather getting a bit colder, greens might not spoil so easily, but they weren’t easy to keep either, so his mother cooked loads of them every meal recently.

When making noodles, there were more greens than noodles.

The same went for porridge.

When the porridge was nearing readiness, she’d dump in the chopped greens as if they cost nothing.

It was true that they cost nothing.

But there really were too many greens.

Su An originally liked eating them, but with this constant barrage, he grew to dislike them.

He wanted to eat meat.

Now, even when having instant noodles, he had to boil greens to add in.

And she laid them on so thick.

Was he eating instant noodles or greens?

"Anan, eat more greens, they’re good for your health and make you grow tall," Su Linglong said with a tender face.

"I don’t really want to grow that tall," Su An replied, his face gloomy.

Although reluctant, Su An still finished the whole bowl of greens.

In the apocalypse, any food was precious, and even though they had plenty of supplies now, the habit of valuing food was deeply ingrained in his mind.

A big bowl of instant noodles plus a big bowl of greens, Su An was stuffed.

Su An frowned and rubbed his belly, truly, he was overstuffed.

And he wasn’t the only one bloated; Su Linglong had overeaten as well.

Su Linglong had both hands busy, one rubbing her own belly, the other rubbing Su An’s, looking guilty.

She was such a grown woman and still managed to stuff herself.

It was really, really... embarrassing.

Luckily, only her son saw.

So, it didn’t matter.

Guilty conscience settled, Su Linglong felt vindicated.

It was just that, she hadn’t cooked for too long.

And hadn’t eaten her fill for a long time.

Then, she had overestimated her own appetite, as well as her son’s.

Su An, having eaten a stomach full of greens, despaired at the sight of half a basket still at home.

The next day, he went to reproach Lin Murong.

"Brother Lin, if you’re going to give greens, why give so many?" he bemoaned. Eating greens every day, every single day, he was turning into a green himself.

"Because kids, eat more greens to grow tall," Lin Murong deceived him.

"Really?" Su An was skeptical.

His mom said the same thing, Brother Lin did too, they all did say it so seriously, but somehow, he felt something was off.

He suspected they were lying.

"Really, really, why would I lie to you?"

Lin Murong nodded earnestly.

"Really?" Su An was still not quite convinced.

"Truly, truly, I never lie to kids." Lin Murong loved to deceive kids the most.

Especially kids like Su An.

"Alright." Su An believed him.

"Then next time you bring something, don’t bring greens again."

"No problem." Lin Murong smiled and nodded, then turned around and gave another basket of greens to Su Linglong.

Bigger than the last one presented.

That’s why he hated adults the most.

Especially adults like Lin Murong.

Su An, so aggravated by a basket of greens, didn’t even feel like being polite anymore.

Brother Lin, big meanie.

How could there be such a mean person in the world.
