Apocalypse: I have a supermarket stocked with supplies Chapter 83

Chapter 83: Panda Mini Bread

After giving away the unwanted snacks, Su Yinhe began to prepare new ones.

Drama watchers and snacks are an inseparable pair.

Then Lin Murong and Qin Mingzhou were eager to help her.

Su Yinhe refused, but to no avail.

By the time she grabbed a bag of candy, they had built her a mountain of snacks.

“Are you guys picking for me or do you just want to pick?” Su Yinhe raised an eyebrow at them while they were still discussing whether to grab more.

A mere mountain was far from satisfying them.

“Of course, it’s for you, Galaxy. Look, all your favorites,” Lin Murong picked up a bag of cream-flavored sunflower seeds.

“Thanks, but I’m sick of sunflower seeds.” She had just given away so many.

There’s no way to finish so many; they’ll end up getting damp.

That young girl might not come either.

“No, no, no.” Lin Murong lifted his index finger and shook it, “You’re tired of ordinary sunflower seeds, these are extraordinary cream-flavored sunflower seeds!”

“They are more fragrant, and their shape is more graceful. They also possess a rich inner world and character. You can’t lump them together with ordinary sunflower seeds… they…”

With an expressionless face, Su Yinhe snatched the bag of seeds and put it back.

“Galaxy! Sunflower seeds! My sunflower seeds! How can you be so heartless! Don’t you know that melodramas and sunflower seeds are the perfect match?!” Lin Murong looked at Su Yinhe’s receding figure with a face full of grievance.

Her figure was so cold, so merciless, it turned out to be a misplaced effort.

He had once thought that as long as they watched enough melodramas together, their bond would grow stronger.

But he never expected that the melodrama would actually happen to him.

His cream-flavored sunflower seeds!

“I think, melodramas go better with duck feet,” Qin Mingzhou raised both hands, which held six packs of duck feet.

“Pfft. Sunflower seeds match best!”

Su Yinhe quietly nibbled on a chicken claw to calm her nerves and casually passed one to the person next to her.

Chi Yan caught it with practiced ease.

Lin Murong and Qin Mingzhou argued back and forth, neither convincing the other.

Indeed, chicken claws are the true perfect match.

Wang Xin and his team already had rice, and after a couple of days, they found a free moment to sneak off in search of pots.

There were four of them.

Wang Xin, Ah Qian, Gou Dan, and a guy named Potato.

The four took advantage of the dark, windy night to play a round of thieves.

They targeted the taller buildings, hoping to find one that wasn’t submerged.

But the water had been so deep before that there weren’t many that weren’t flooded.

They searched everywhere for a long time before they found a few pots.

However, not every pot was usable.

Those with an electrical cord, which couldn’t be placed on the fire, were out of the question.

Wang Xin ruled out the electric pots.

Too big and heavy also wouldn’t do, as they wouldn’t be convenient for making a quick getaway.

Wang Xin also discarded the cast iron pots that weighed more than him.

Two remained, both decent.

Unable to decide which was better, they decided to take both back.

Their long search didn’t just turn up pots; they also found a few other items.

Several pieces of clothing, a bit musty, but no matter—they were still wearable.

A chipped ceramic cup.

They picked and chose, and in the end, they returned fully loaded.

What they brought back was so much that others, upon seeing it, realized belatedly, yes, the base might be waterlogged, and a lot of stuff was ruined, but some rummaging could still yield useful items.

Then the base leader noticed that lately, many people were late to work and left early.

Their minds clearly weren’t on their work.

On further inquiry, well, turns out they’d gone off scavenging.

And when asked more, it appeared they were all following suit.

The leader’s face turned dark as he found Su Yinhe and the others, intending to give them a scolding, but Su Yinhe cleverly handed over two Panpan mini bread loaves.

The leader, looking at the mini bread, swallowed the scolding words that were about to come out.

“You’ve been working really hard lately, keep it up,” the leader smoothly pocketed the two mini bread loaves.

He praised the kids, then became curious about where they got their bread.

There was no need to hide it, Su Yinhe had observed many people flocking to the supermarket. And he knew the owner didn’t mind the customers.

So Su Yinhe honestly recounted the situation to the leader.

“A supermarket? For real? How come I haven’t heard anything about it?” The leader was skeptical after hearing Su Yinhe’s story.

These days, everyone was struggling to find food, who had the resources to run a supermarket?

The big suppliers in the base were all hoarding their resources, claiming poverty whenever questioned by base residents.

But everyone knew they were rich in supplies.

Canned goods and grains of all sorts.

They just didn’t want to give away anything.

Common folk were eating dirt from hunger, while those with resources were still sipping wine and eating steaks.

“It’s true, we’ve already been there. Brother Sun, you know me, I never lie,” Su Yinhe lied through his teeth with a convincing smile.

“Alright, I’ll go check it out. If there really is one, you’ll be rewarded.” As the base leader, Brother Sun had plenty of Crystal Cores on hand.

Just a hike down the hill, and if there really was a supermarket, it would mean a windfall.

Su Yinhe’s face was all smiles, but he didn’t hold out much hope for Brother Sun’s promised favors.

Brother Sun pondered for a moment, then fetched his hoard of Crystal Cores. He kept his Crystal Cores in a small pouch, with various types all mixed together; at first glance, it looked quite plentiful.

When Brother Sun pulled out the pouch, he noticed Su Yinhe still waiting outside with a smile.

He hesitated, then took out a few Crystal Cores from the bag. Recalling the amount Su Yinhe mentioned for trading, he put two back.

Then he handed the remaining three Crystal Cores to Su Yinhe.

“This… Brother Sun, I can’t take this.”

“Keep it, I can’t take advantage of you for nothing. I’m not one to cheat the kids.” It was only three Crystal Cores after all; he could afford that.

Brother Sun fiddled with the Crystal Cores in the bag, thinking if the boy’s tale was true, he’d make a fortune.

He wouldn’t care about these Level 3 Low-level Crystal Cores then.

“Thank you, Brother Sun, you really are a great person.”

“I just feel sorry for you kids, still have some conscience left. Not like that Brother Zhao or Brother Li, always trying to take advantage and gather favors…” Brother Sun seemed to think of something and began to speak sarcastically.

Su Yinhe stood by in silence, trying to make himself as inconspicuous as possible.

He knew better than to agree carelessly.

If word got out accidentally, Brother Sun wouldn’t face any consequences, but he, just a lackey, might meet with an unforeseen end with just a frown from Brother Zhao or Brother Li.

Brother Sun just made some sarcastic remarks and then let it be.

He told Su Yinhe to get back to work.

“Work hard, do well, and you could be made a Supervisor.” A big promise was made just like that.

Being a Supervisor was an easy job.

Many people were trying to bribe Brother Sun for that position.

It was an easy job and you could boss others around, and if it happened to be an enemy, you could even give them a hard time.

“Thank you, Brother Sun,” Su Yinhe said, bowing and scraping.
