A man who looked to be in his thirties stood with his upper body bare, muscles carved as if chiseled by a sculptor. His hair was tied in a neat bun, and he wore white taekwondo trousers. An O sign was marked on his forehead, with two intricate tattoos drawn on his chest.

He drew and released arrows at an inhuman speed, his movements a blur. The targets before him, each drawn with a face that vaguely resembled Aron, were lined up in formation. Within seconds, every target was filled with arrows. Slaves quickly replaced them with new ones, and the man continued without pause.

His eyes were devoid of emotion as he kept firing, arrow after arrow.

Then, a pair of slender arms slipped around his torso from behind. A woman hugged him gently, resting her head on his back. She was beautiful, fiercely so, with a scar running across one eye that somehow made her charm even more striking.

"D-One, we found the target’s information," she whispered softly against his back.

D-One didn’t reply. He continued shooting, his arrows finding their marks with perfect precision.

When he remained silent, the woman, Ana, spoke again.

"He was a famous trader before the apocalypse. Though it was said he lost eve..."

"Tell me what I want to know," D-One cut in coldly.

"He was an orphan before the apocalypse," Ana continued calmly, "and had no known family members. He used to be married, but the marriage ended in divorce because of abuse."

"So you’re telling me," D-One said, his voice laced with venom, "that he has no one he holds dear?"

"Not that we’re aware of," Ana replied. "He might have someone from the orphanage he was in, but there’s no record of him in any Zone B orphanage. It could mean either the orphanage wasn’t in Zone B, or that the information about him being an orphan was a lie."

Ana stayed behind him, still hugging him from the back.

"I don’t care," D-One said coldly. "Kill anyone he’s ever crossed paths with. Whether enemy or friend, It makes no difference."

"What about the Reaper?" Ana asked carefully. "I saw the report he gave about the target being the figure with the alias the Saint. Should he still be left alone as you promised?"

This time, D-One stopped firing. He dropped his bow and turned to face her. A cold smile touched his lips.

"What do you think I sent Levi for?"

"Oh." Ana’s eyes widened in understanding.

"The Shelter of LordMoonlight has been located," she said after a pause. "What should we do to him?"

"Let him be." D-One brushed past her.

"What?!" Ana exclaimed in disbelief. "He’s the one who openly went against you and bid for what the Reaper had stolen..."

"You don’t have to remind me who he is," D-One interrupted with a sigh.

"He has the same power class as me," D-One said, cutting her off again.

"Impossible. Absolutely impossible," she muttered as she quickly pulled up the Solara Group rankings.

D-One’s name was still at number one, hers and Levi’s at two and three, Saint at four. After scrolling for a while, she found LordMoonlight at rank 136.

"You’re telling me someone not even in the top hundred has the same power class as you? she demanded. "Who told you that nonsense? We’ve never seen him, never confirmed any data, how could you possibly know?"

"Where I got that information is none of your concern," D-One replied. "Just leave him alone."

"Enough questions." His tone left no room for argument. "Get to work."

Ana bit back her words. With a complicated expression, she approached D-One as he lay on the bed. She put on a monocle-like zooming lens, peeled a sticker off his chest, a small drawing of a character symbol, and picked up a tattoo pen.

Activating her talent, she began tracing the symbol on his body, the ink glowing faintly as she worked.

Rose bent over, dry-heaving like she was trying to vomit out her soul. Aron stood nearby, leaning against a wall with his arms crossed, watching in silence.

The speed at which he had carried her had been so fast that the world turned into a blur. The only thing she remembered was the wind whipping past her like a hurricane.

After several seconds, Rose finally managed to steady herself. She turned toward Aron with teary eyes that quickly brightened into joy.

"I... I knew you’d come for me!"

She rushed forward for a hug, but Aron sidestepped instantly, expression twisting in disgust.

Rose froze mid-motion, realizing only then the stench coming off her clothes. Her face flushed red with embarrassment, but the happiness in her eyes didn’t fade.

Aron gave her a blank look.

(Did carrying her mess up her brain? Did I make her an idiot somehow?)

Rose shifted awkwardly under his stare, unsure why he was looking at her like a patient in a mental ward.

Without saying a word, Aron walked past her into one of the buildings he’d already cleared of zombies using water control. Gritting her teeth at his cold attitude, Rose quickly followed.

"There’s a bucket of water, soap, and new clothes in that room," Aron said as she stepped in. "Go in and freshen up."

He was sitting cross leg on a sofa in the parlor, calmly reading a book as if he owned the place.

Rose blinked, then bolted into the room. Moments later, she came out dressed in a simple but neat outfit. Aron glanced at her once, nodded slightly, and gestured toward the table.

"Come and eat," he said, eyes still on his book.

Rose froze. On the table sat a steaming plate of rice and meat, real food. For a moment, she wondered if she was dreaming.

"I don’t have all day," Aron added flatly.

She sat down quickly. Her stomach rumbled as she picked up her spoon, trying to eat gracefully at first. But after one bite, her self-control collapsed. She devoured the meal like it might vanish at any moment.

Aron watched quietly, half-concerned she might choke. But when she finished, patting her belly in satisfaction, he spoke again.

"Do you want power?" For more chapters visıt 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝·𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖·𝕟𝕖𝕥

Rose blinked, caught off guard.

A voice interrupted him mid-sentence.

"LordMoonlight here. Testing, testing."

Aron froze mid-thought.

I’m feeling a bit defeated today. I just realized I didn’t meet the Chapter quota to qualify for this month’s feature, which means I’ll have to wait until next time.

It’s frustrating because I really wanted to make this month count, but setbacks happen. I’ll keep working hard, writing Chapters, and preparing for a stronger comeback.

Thank you all for continuing to read, comment, and support. You’re the reason I keep writing.
