Zhao Qiankun secured the Crystal Core, and the mechanical claw turned back into a Blade. Seeing the grisly end of the level 4 superpower user stirred even greater terror in the others; they no longer dared to oppose Zhao Qiankun and scattered in a frenzied escape. While fleeing, they instinctively dispersed, which meant that no matter who Zhao Qiankun targeted next, the others would be relatively safer and might even manage to escape.
Zhao Qiankun deftly avoided Bai Ye and Fang Yuyang’s attacks. He ignored the third-level superpower users and headed straight for one of the level 4 superpower users.
Bai Ye and Fang Yuyang immediately gave chase. As for those power users who had fled desperately at the first sign of trouble, they had already picked a direction to escape. Some zombies chased after the members of the White Wolf Mercenary Corps, while others greedily devoured the corpses on the ground.

Then, with a grasp, the corpses on the ground exploded into clouds of blood mist that surged towards him, enveloping him. The zombies did not dare to move, maintaining their previous actions as if petrified.
A good while later, the blood mist disappeared, and the man’s form re-emerged. However, his complexion was no longer as pale as before; he looked more like a healthy person. He took out a mirror from his pocket, admired his reflection with satisfaction, and then, in a blink, he departed the area.
After he left, the rigid zombies that had not moved a muscle suddenly came to life again. All the corpses had vanished, leaving nothing but scattered bloodstains. Without any food left, the zombies howled a few times and no longer stayed, instead tracking the scent of the superpower users.
From afar, Bai Ye and Fang Yuyang, who had been in pursuit of Zhao Qiankun, suddenly stopped. Bai Ye transmitted, "What’s going on? I just felt a very evil presence."
Fang Yuyang responded, "Me too; it seems something has happened. What should we do? Shall we check it out?"
Bai Ye hesitated for a moment, then decided, "You keep following Zhao Qiankun and leave a trail; I’ll be right back."
Fang Yuyang didn’t refuse and simply cautioned "Be careful" before continuing the chase.
