“It must have taken my wife a lot of work to persuade Li Ming to let us charge our power bank with the generator he so painstakingly secured. I appreciate her efforts.”
Peng Zhi, looking at his fully charged power bank and his nearly dead cell phone, hurriedly plugged in the data cable. He then looked at his wife sleeping next to him and whispered to himself.
Peng Zhi sighed inwardly and turned to continue using his cellphone.
Times have changed. In this post-apocalyptic world, where he didn’t have to go to work every day, the quiet nights gave him a creepy feeling. He’d prefer to stay up until dawn, then sleep late rather than going to bed early.
He thought that his wife was also the same. But ever since they ran out of food at home, everything changed, she would sleep early even if she was afraid of what was outside.
“Thankfully, we were able to borrow food from Li Ming.”
Peng Zhi thought to himself as he got more absorbed in the mobile game.

As soon as Zhang Yuan went to bed, Li Ming, who had just finished showering in the living room, remained awake. Drinking a cold bottle of water from the fridge, he felt refreshed. He looked at his progress panel, a smile inevitably appeared on his face.
Perhaps it was due to his sword and spear skills already being at an intermediate level, his mastery of this basic form of martial arts increased rapidly.
It wasn’t just about physical strength.
Having pondered over this, Li Ming looked at the metal parts in front of him, silently taking a hacksaw to cut off the end of a two and a half meter long steel pipe.
After much consideration, he decided that a beveled steel pipe and a custom two and a half meter long pry bar were definitely good alternatives for a spear should his Rostrum Spear ever break.
Li Ming, believing in preparation is key to success, planned in advance to make several beveled steel pipes, especially as the custom-made pry bar was one of a kind, hence stockpiling the steel pipes was necessary.
Besides, Li Ming also had several extremely sharp drill bits and jackhammer bits set aside. These were the result of Zhang Yuan’s hard work in the afternoon.
In order to reward her efforts, Li Ming charged her phone fully which left her legs wobbly on her way home due to exhaustion.
As he worked on the steel pipe, Li Ming practised controlling the drill bits with his psychokinesis, demonstrating impressive speed.
With a thought, Li Ming directed a drill bit to pierce a wooden board hanging on the wall in the living room. The drill bit instantaneously lodged itself into the board.

Li Ming’s psychokinetic power was still weak, limiting his ability to control finer drill bits, which consequently diminished the scope of the damage he could inflict. However, as his power grew, he would eventually be able to control a thick jackhammer bit which would greatly increase the effectiveness of his skill.
In addition, Li Ming had also mastered dart throwing, another weapon in his arsenal.
Furthermore, Li Ming had ideas regarding spear throwing and archery. As for his current spear and sword skills, they had reached a level where further improvement could only be attained through self-innovation. His sword skills still had room for improvement as he considered practising diverse techniques including hanging, thrusting, cloud, and collapsing sword moves.
For now though, he needed to prioritise the training for these basic moves.
Beyond this, he also planned on using modern fitness techniques to improve his physical strength. This would make his training schedule denser.
His spear and sword techniques were on an extremely high level, which wasn’t easily improved upon, therefore pose a challenge to him.
“Zzzzz…”
“Thud ~”
The hacksaw kept on sawing the steel pipe, occasionally shooting out a drill bit, depleting Li Ming’s psychokinetic energy.
By eleven o’clock, Li Ming finished sawing a steel pipe and completely exhausted his psychokinetic energy. He washed his hands and took a breather.
Just as he was wondering why Chen Li hadn’t arrived yet, the sound of a door opening echoed through the empty hallway. Chen Li, dressed in black trousers and black blouse with her long hair draping over her shoulders, emerged from the guardhouse ahead.
When she noticed Li Ming watching her, she hurriedly closed the door, slipped her black sandals on her feet, and sprinted towards Li Ming, her voluptuous figure drawing attention.
“I’m sorry I’m late. My daughter kept me up late tonight,” Chen Li apologized. The enticing scent of her perfume sent a pleasant feeling down Li Ming’s spine.

In the blink of an eye, it was the thirteenth day of the apocalypse.
When Zhang Yuan woke up in the morning, she headed to the bathroom to freshen up.
She was halfway through when she heard an odd sound and cursed silently.
After rinsing her clothes in the basin, Zhang Yuan picked out an outfit from her closet. In a stroke of genius, she put on a pair of new black stockings, topped them with a light grey professional skirt, paired with a white blouse. Clad in flat shoes, she looked at her reflection in the bathroom mirror, a serene yet enticing vibe struck her. A slight smile appeared on her face.
This was her first time wearing stockings. Thinking about Li Ming’s reaction upon seeing her, she smiled contently and continued to brush her teeth and wash her face.
