Bai Meiyue glanced at the young woman and then bypassed her to walk inside the house. She had no recollection about the Shen family, but she did know that this family was not a good thing.
When Shen Zhen was helping her nurse and take care of Bai Cai in the initial days, she told her that she was looking for her sisters who were sold away by the Shen parents.
Thus, she didn’t trust the Shen family enough to believe their words without seeing everything from her eyes.
"Where is Shen Zhen?" she asked in a low voice.
However, no one answered her. The Shen parents were too terrified to even speak a word, and Shen Congyi was looking at Bai Meiyue with a look of infatuation on his face. He thought that Qiu Shuang was a beautiful woman but now that he had seen Bai Meiyue, he realised that he was really a frog in the middle of the well.
He could feel his heart pounding while looking at Bai Meiyue’s tender face.
Seeing the dazed look in the eyes of her husband, Qiu Shuang turned gloomy. She turned to look at Bai Meiyue and said in a dissatisfied voice, "Who are you? Why are you here to cause trouble for us? You look like a refined woman but you have such a black heart."
Bai Meiyue sneered, "What? Am I the one who is causing trouble or is it you who is causing trouble? You were the one who started screaming the second you saw someone come over and even after my warning, you are still yelling."
Shen Congyi also felt that his wife was acting like a shrew. He immediately scolded her, "Right. Why are you screaming ? She didn’t even do anything to you yet. But you are screaming as if she had robbed you of your pants. Stay quiet; we can talk nicely, can’t we?"
As he finished speaking, he glanced at Bai Meiyue bashfully. He hoped that Bai Meiyue would be able to take a good look at him.
Seeing this, Qiu Shuang was infuriated. When he wanted to chase after her, he said all kinds of sweet words and told her that he would treat her well but now that his eyes were set on someone else, he was actually scolding her.
Qiu Li, who knew that her sister was getting angry and was about to fight with her brother-in-law, tugged at her sleeves and shook her head. They were living at someone else’s house and eating someone else’s food. If the Shen family kicked them out, they would be done for.
"Sister, stop talking already. Are you not scared that brother-in-law will throw us out of the house?" Qiu Li warned her sister lightly.
Although Qiu Li was whispering, Bai Meiyue heard her voice with her supernatural senses.
A glint flashed in Bai Meiyue’s eyes, as she did not expect to meet this person here.
Though she didn’t remember Qiu Shuang, she did remember Qiu Li, and because of this, she could also recall the good deeds Qiu Shuang had done in the past.
After the apocalypse broke, the Shen family abandoned Qiu Shuang and her sister. Because of this, Qiu Shuang had no choice but to start serving men. After all, she had no skills and she didn’t want to face trouble either; thus, unlike her sister, she ended up falling on the crooked path.
And because Qiu Shuang dealt with a lot of men, she ended up learning a lot of tricks and soon seduced Su Hu.
Su Hu was a good-looking man to begin with; thus, after rolling in sheets with him, Qiu Shuang started hating Bai Meiyue. She often made things difficult for her.
