"Why are you asking such a question?" Bai Meiyue raised a brow. The burning flames reflected in her dark eyes, and with the setting sun, her entire body was covered in a golden glow. She looked heroic and beautiful with the golden, glittering sunlight enveloping her entire body.
Lei Qian sucked in a breath before clenching his teeth and spitting out, "It’s important to me." It was better to know the truth instead of clinging to her. If Bai Meiyue had someone, he wouldn’t cling to her.
He might be interested in Bai Meiyue but he would never do such a thing where her happiness would be ruined because of him.

Bai Meiyue pursed her lips. For a second she wanted to lie to Lei Qiang and say that it was a man but when she looked into his eyes, she suddenly couldn’t lie. With a sigh, she said, "It’s a woman. Now stop thinking too much."
Lei Qian’s entire body visibly eased when he heard that it was a woman.
Seeing this, Bai Meiyue couldn’t help but chuckle. "What’s this? If it was a man, would you have refused to rescue him?"
"No, I would have helped you in rescuing him because he was important to you but that would be the only thing I would have done," Lei Qian said honestly. He wasn’t lying. He liked Bai Meiyue but if she had someone else in her heart, he wouldn’t make things difficult for her.
When Bai Meiyue heard his solemn words, she felt her heartbeat skitter. With heat rushing to her cheeks, she turned around on her feet and headed towards the spot where the Level One zombie was hiding. She said to the man behind her, "Stop wasting time and stay on guard; there is danger ahead."
After speaking, she didn’t care about Lei Qian and created a water wall around the two of them. Though Level One zombies were not as powerful as the third and fourth-rank zombies, they were still good at hiding and attacking.
Their speed was faster than the normal zombies and they knew how to retreat and attack.
When Lei Qian heard that there was danger ahead of them, he stopped fooling around and turned vigilant. He didn’t know what was hiding in front of them but when he noticed a bunch of zombies lingering around a small building and surrounding it as if they were protecting it, he knew that there was something wrong.
Bai Meiyue’s eyes flashed; she created a water funnel and caught the zombies in the whirlpool of water.
Similarly, Lei Qian, who stood behind her, used his fire abilities. He cupped his mouth and took in a deep breath before letting out a roar of fire like a dragon burning the zombies. The zombies melted into a tar-like substance and Bai Meiyue saw Lei Qian collecting the crystal nuclei.
Even if she didn’t know what level Lei Qian was at, she could guess that this man was still at level 2 while she was at level 3. However, just because she was a water ability user, the difference between the two was this high?
He could clean more than twenty zombies in one swift move!
"What?" Lei Qian turned to look at her and asked.
"Nothing," Bai Meiyue gritted her teeth and turned her head away before collecting the crystal nuclei. Even if she knew the level of difference was unfair, there was nothing she could do.
The two of them cleared the rest of the zombies that were lingering around the shop. Because the two of them worked together, the zombies were cleaned up rather quickly.
However, Bai Meiyue didn’t drop her guard. Her eyes flicked left and right as if she were waiting for something. Seeing her act , Lei Qian also stayed on alert as well. He didn’t know what they were waiting for but after following Bai Meiyue for so long, he had learnt that Bai Meiyue was hardly ever wrong.
A low growl emanated from inside the gold jewellery shop and Lei Qian straightened up. He looked at the zombie that stepped out of the shop and found something amiss. This zombie was not as hunchbacked as the others and its speed was quite normal.
He wasn’t slow and his eyes were focused as if he could see them.
"It’s a level one zombie." Bai Meiyue looked at the undead that was walking towards them and explained, "It’s a mutated zombie. This zombie is faster and more aggressive than the others; its eyesight is not that good but it can still detect shapes and moving things. Don’t underestimate it—"
As soon as she finished speaking, the zombie pounced on Bai Meiyue who moved slightly to the left. Seeing this, Bai Meiyue dove to one side and then summoned a bunch of water needles that she aimed at the Level One zombie.
However, because it was walking faster than the normal zombies, it was difficult to aim at his head!
