"What but?" She narrowed her eyes and sneered. "You keep saying that you want to make up to me and now that I have asked you for help, you keep making excuses one after another."
Lei Qian was speechless. He wanted to say that Bai Meiyue was not innocent either. She was the one who told him that she didn't need his help as compensation but now she was asking him to dig.
However, when Bai Meiyue narrowed her eyes and looked at him, Lei Qian had no choice other than to pick up the hoe and then dig the spot where Bai Meiyue pointed. What? He wasn't a scaredy cat. Her gaze was just that effectively terrifying.
Lei Qian was certain that if Bai Meiyue shot that glare at a zombie, even that brainless monster would be scared off.
"Be careful," she told him as he swung the hoe harshly on the ground. "If you damage the antique, you will have to make it up to me."
"Sure, your majesty," Lei Qian rolled his eyes as he slowed down and dug the ground carefully.
Fortunately, the owner of the house didn't bury the antique too deep. Just a few big scoops were enough to clean up the soil over the antique and pull it out.
Bai Meiyue looked at the alluring statue of a dancer and nodded with satisfaction. This statue was worth so many points; even the smallest detail was enough to charm anyone. It was a shame that there was no one left in this world who would care about this exquisite piece of art.
