Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies Chapter 79

Elena entered the space and noticed someone crying in another portable house. Concerned, she immediately went to investigate, and to her surprise, she found little Mia.

"Little Mia, why are you crying?" Elena asked gently, her voice soothing as she knelt down to Mia’s level and patted her head, hoping to comfort her.

Seeing that it was her sister Ele, little Mia immediately shared her distressing discovery.

"Sis Ewe, Poochi is gone!" little Mia sobbed.

"I was pwaying with him, and then he vanished magicawy. Mom said he was just summoned by you, Sis Ewe, but he hasn’t weturned yet."

Elena’s heart melted at little Mia’s soft cry.

’Maybe it was when she summoned Poochi to help soothe the baby animals.’

She felt guilty; she should have checked first before summoning anyone.

"Do you want to see Poochi? He’s currently looking for the baby animals," Elena asked.

"I want to, Sis Ewe! Mom is so busy and doesn’t have time to pway with little Mia," Mia replied eagerly.

"Okay, come with me," Elena said with a smile.

Elena teleported them both to the Livestock Farming sector. Upon arriving, they were greeted by various animals: cows munching on grass, chickens wandering about, and others simply basking in the sun.

They spotted Grandpa Caldwell gently feeding the baby animals. Seeing this, little Mia, filled with excitement at the sight of so many creatures, she dashed over to join her grandpa.

Elena had entrusted the baby animals to Grandpa Caldwell, who was knowledgeable about caring for exotic animals.

According to her husband, Grandpa Caldwell was an avid fan of these creatures and frequently visited the zoo to learn more about their care.

With his gentle touch and some experience, Elena felt relieved knowing they would be safe in his capable hands.

"Gwandpa, is this your new pet?" little Mia asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

"Yes, Little Mia. They’re still babies and need special care," he replied.

"I’ll take good care of them, Gwandpa!" she exclaimed enthusiastically.

"Okay, you can look after them with Poochi."

Afterward, little Mia and Poochi happily played with the baby animals while Elena and Grandpa Caldwell watched them with smiles on their faces.

"Grandpa, where is everyone?" Elena asked.

"They are currently at the mansion on City D. They exit the Paradise because their three-hour time limit is almost up."

The team decided to leave the space 30 minutes before their allotted 3-hour time limit. They are required to reserve this half-hour for emergency purposes.

"Grandpa, let’s call everyone; we’re almost at the main gate of City A. I plan to pull them all into City A together."

Hearing this, Grandpa Caldwell felt a mix of relief and sadness. He was glad they had finally arrived at City A, but he was also a bit sad, knowing it might be the last time he would see his mansion—the place where his children had grown up.

Elena was about to use her [Telepathy skills] to call them when she heard Grandpa Caldwell speak.

"Granddaughter, let me exit Paradise. I’ll inform them myself. Just keep an eye on Little Mia for a moment," he said.

Elena noticed a hint of sadness in Grandpa Caldwell’s eyes. She was confused but agreed nonetheless.

"Okay, Grandpa," she replied.

He immediately left the space.

Grandpa Caldwell appeared in the living room of the Caldwell mansion in City D. He noticed the people there were busy with their individual tasks. He quickly informed them that Elena had successfully arrived in City A, bringing them a sense of relief.

"Let’s head to Paradise for a meeting. Elena wants to update us on the situation. Also, make sure to bring everything with you; this might be the last time you can exit from this location," Grandpa Caldwell informed them.

Everyone understood that Elena would pull them to City A, so they quickly stored their belongings in their [Inventory].

The Ford departed first, casting one last glance at City D. Uncertain if they would ever return to their birthplace, they felt a mix of emotions but grateful that their family was complete and well.

After they vanished, only Grandpa Caldwell, Uncle Anthony, and Butler Aki remained at the mansion. Aunt Liza was at Paradise Hospital, tending to little Lucy and Lydia.

"Dad, let’s go," Uncle Anthony said, noticing the old man’s sad demeanor.

With a concerned tone, he added, "Everything will be fine. Maybe one day we can return here. As long as our family is together and well, that will be the greatest blessing. No matter where we go, we will create a home for all of us. Remember, you have little Mia, and in the years to come, you might have many great-grandchildren with your grandson Ethan."

Hearing this, Grandpa Caldwell felt a surge of hope as he took one last look at the mansion. However, tears filled his eyes, stirred by the memories this place held. He had lived here his entire life, and this mansion had witnessed both laughter and sorrow.

Now, he had to venture forth, uncertain if he would ever see the day when the world returned to normal. His only wish was when his time came, his remains would be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife.

’Don’t worry, wife. I’ll look after them.’

"Let’s go," Grandpa Caldwell said with resolve and a smile on his face.

They left together with Butler Aki, leaving the mansion empty and cold.

Inside the space, everyone was looking at little Mia, who was having fun with her new friends. She immediately promises to name them later.

Seeing the lively little Mia, Grandpa Caldwell smiled, and he was now looking for what tomorrow will bring.

Seeing everyone was here, Elena began to recount their journey, starting from the moment they found Lydia and continuing their ride to City A.

"That’s all we did. However, City A is now under total lockdown due to criminals planning to infiltrate the city. Many people are lining up to be checked before they can enter."

Elena then prepared them for their personal identification. She and Ethan decided to enter normally to gather news updates and avoid drawing suspicion.
