As a Grey Knight In Naruto Chapter 116

The cave had grown silent after the last battle cries faded. In the wake of Sasori and Deidara's defeat, only the soft flicker of chakra seals remained etched into the cavern walls. Gaara lay unconscious but unharmed in the center of the chamber, still cocooned in a faint shimmer of chakra threads that were beginning to fade.

Sakura knelt beside him without delay. "His vitals are stable," she murmured, pressing a hand to his chest and concentrating. "The sealing just weakened him a lot."

She began pouring her chakra into Gaara's tenketsu (pressure points), targeting the minor disruptions in his chakra flow caused by transport and restraint. Her hands glowed green, guiding soft pulses of healing chakra to relax the tension within his body.

Chiyo stood a short distance away, watching in silence. "You're skilled," she said at last. "I expected nothing less from Tsunade's apprentice."

Sakura didn't respond immediately. Her focus remained on dissolving the remnants of Sasori's chakra thread seal. A few moments later, the seal unraveled with a faint pulse, like a knot loosening.

Gaara stirred.

His eyes opened slowly, their aquamarine depths dull from exhaustion. He blinked twice, his gaze shifting from the cavern ceiling to the girl beside him.

"...Sakura?" he said softly.

She smiled. "You're okay now. Just rest."

His eyes moved again, and this time landed on Naruto, who stood just behind her.

"Naruto," he breathed.

Naruto grinned. "You scared us, Gaara! Getting kidnapped the second you become Kazekage? That's not cool!"

Gaara sat up slowly with Sakura's support, visibly weakened but alert. "Kazekage... yes. I'm sorry."

"Sorry? Pfft. I'm just jealous you got the hat first," Naruto said, half-joking. "But you earned it, Gaara. Everyone in the village believes in you now. That means something."

Gaara gave a small nod. "Thank you... all of you."

His gaze then turned toward the towering figure who stood nearby, war halberd resting at his side, helmet tucked under one arm. Hajime's silver eyes met Gaara's quietly.

"And you must be... Tsunade's apprentice," Gaara said.

"Hajime," he replied simply.

"Thank you," Gaara said, his voice steadier. "For saving me."

Chiyo stepped forward then, her expression neutral. "You need rest. Let us get out of this place."

Hajime nodded. "Everyone, gather close. I'll take us back to the village."

Naruto and Sakura moved beside him, helping Gaara rise to his feet. Chiyo stepped into the circle without hesitation.

With a soft hum and shimmer of light, the world bent around them.

They reappeared just outside the gates of Sunagakure. The desert wind brushed across their faces, warm and dry. A squad of Suna shinobi spotted them instantly and rushed forward.

"Kazekage-sama!" one of them called, eyes wide. "You're safe!"

Gaara gave a faint nod, steady on his feet despite fatigue. The medics offered to take him immediately to the medical wing, but he raised a hand. "In a moment."

He turned to Naruto and Sakura. "I owe you my life once more."

Naruto scratched his head. "Heh, it's kind of our thing, huh? Getting each other out of tight spots."

Gaara then turned to Hajime. "If you have time, I would be honored if you stayed in the village tonight as guests."

Sakura perked up slightly at the idea, but Hajime shook his head gently.

"We have duties back in Konoha. Another time."

Gaara nodded in understanding. "Then allow me to express my gratitude more formally in the future."

Naruto clasped his shoulder. "Take care, Gaara. And don't get kidnapped next time."

The two shared a quiet laugh, a rare thing between them.

Hajime stepped forward again. "Let's go."

Naruto and Sakura moved to his side. In the next moment, the three vanished in a flicker of light.

They reappeared just outside the Hokage Tower in Konoha, the sun beginning its descent across the sky.

Naruto stretched his arms. "That was intense... but we got him back."

"Thanks to Hajime," Sakura said, casting a glance upward at him.

Hajime remained quiet, then turned toward the tower. "You two go rest. I'll report to Tsunade."

Naruto grinned. "Got it! See you later, Hajime!"

Sakura smiled. "Don't be too long."

The two walked off down the path, the village calm in their return.

Hajime stood for a moment, helmet in hand, then walked quietly up the steps of the tower.

Inside the Hokage Tower, Tsunade looked up from her desk the moment Hajime entered. Her gaze softened slightly as he approached.

"You're back. Mission complete?"

Hajime nodded. "Gaara is safe. We intercepted Deidara and Sasori before the extraction could begin. Both Akatsuki members are dead."

Tsunade leaned back slightly, letting out a breath. "That's two off the board. Good. The Sand owes us for this."

Hajime tilted his head. "They've expressed gratitude. Gaara was recovering quickly."

"Any complications?"

"None worth reporting. Sakura healed Kankuro, and the Sand respected her for it. Naruto showed control. All objectives secured."

Tsunade nodded slowly, her expression unreadable. "You've done well. I'm proud of all of you."

Hajime turned slightly. "If there's nothing else, I'll return to the lab to remove my armor."

But Tsunade rose from her chair and walked past him. "Actually… follow me."

Curious, Hajime followed her deeper into the tower. She led him to a side door, one layered in dense sealwork, runes designed for sound suppression, chakra dampening, and vibration nullification.

She opened it and stepped inside.

The room was warm, private. The bed in the center was large, and the walls pulsed faintly with silence seals.

Hajime paused at the entrance, then met her gaze. There was nothing said aloud. He understood.

Without a word, he set his helmet on the floor and began removing his armor.

Piece by piece, the silver warplate came off, placed gently beside the bed.

Morning light filtered gently through the sealed window.

Hajime lay awake, Tsunade resting quietly against his chest. Her voluptuous, naked body rose and fell with each slow breath, her golden hair fanned over his chest like silk. One arm draped across his torso, her fingers lightly curled.

The day had just begun.

And for a while, he simply let it begin slowly.
