Ashen God Chapter 124

After a long time, I have to start writing a post for the new book going on the shelves again, and this new book should probably be considered the most successful I’ve had yet.

Previously, my books would at most get two rounds of recommendations during their new book phase, but this time it’s different. This time I went through all six rounds of recommendations, advancing from the popular category to the new books category, strong push in the category, six-channel recommendation, Three Rivers recommendation, and strong promotion on the homepage, a full six rounds of recommendations.

I can only say that now, as I’m about to face going on the shelves, my feelings can only be described as a multitude of emotions. Since the book’s release, I’ve kept up a daily update of 4,000 words, continuing for 59 days straight, and I also added updates during the holidays.

I vaguely remember, during my first book, using the National Day holiday to casually brainstorm one afternoon, then coded another two thousand words and directly uploaded them; after that, I continued with daily updates, which lasted for more than five months before going on the shelves. I was a newbie at the time and didn’t understand anything; in hindsight, one update a day really was too poor a performance, and I didn’t even get any recommendations.

But this book is different. I spent half a month brainstorming, thoroughly planning out Zhang Yanhang’s abilities at each Rank, and I even planned a bunch of side quests. Plus, with twice-daily updates, the results were indeed much better as expected.

Of course, I think the main difference is probably due to a change in categories. I had been writing in the derivative fan-fiction category of the secondary dimension, but this book made the leap to the science fiction category of evolutionary mutations, switching from fan-fiction to original works.

If this book were still in the secondary dimension category, its future would probably be uncertain. The main reason I switched to the science fiction category was because of recent reforms made by the editorial team at QiDian. Although I was writing science fiction, I could still submit to the same editor I had for my secondary dimension works.

So, I figured since I didn’t have to change editors, I might as well try out the science fiction category. If it didn’t work out, I could always ask the chief editor to switch back. As it turns out, the results were much better than when I was in the secondary dimension category.

Previously, some readers mentioned this book has a secondary dimension flavor to it, and they’re right. After all, I am firstly a secondary dimension author, and I’m quite good at writing conversations with a high concentration of secondary dimension elements. But I later realized that a high concentration of secondary dimension only serves to niche down the book, so I stopped writing in that style.

Next, let’s talk about the specific rules for additional updates. Currently, my book has forty thousand collections, so normal expectations would be about two thousand initial subscriptions. So, for every additional hundred subscriptions, I’ll add one Chapter, with no upper limit. This text is hosted at NoveI~Fire.net

Then there’s the matter of additional updates for rewards – it’s still the same as before. For every ten thousand QiDian coins, or a cumulative ten thousand QiDian coins, I’ll add one Chapter (currently, the first round has already accumulated over six thousand QiDian coins), again with no upper limit.

In other words, one Duozhu adds one Chapter, one Alliance Hierarch adds ten Chapters, one Silver Alliance adds one hundred Chapters (give me a chance to overload myself). Chatting in the author’s group, authors who attain the Silver Alliance often flaunt it, and I always feel envious during such Versailles times.

Authors who know me are aware that during my Peak Period last year, I could code 24,000 words a day (start coding upon waking up and keep at it until sleep, colloquially known as coding until collapsing). So, there’s certainly no problem with additional updates. As long as the conditions are met, they will be added.

Next, there’s the issue of basic updates after going on the shelves. If the performance is ordinary post-launch, I’ll still maintain the current pace of two updates a day, totaling 4,000 words. If the performance is good, it will evolve to three updates a day, totaling 6,000 words.

Then comes the problem with the VIP Chapter updates. I should publish the first VIP Chapter tonight between 0.05 and 0.10, mainly because the VIP Chapter release function won’t be available until after 0.05, and there can occasionally be a slight delay.

But generally, the delay is just a minute or two at most, so I will definitely update the VIP Chapter before 12:10 tonight.

Unknowingly, I’ve typed over twelve hundred words. I’ve said everything that needs to be said, so finally, I humbly ask for your initial subscriptions. I hope everyone can subscribe to the VIP Chapters when the time comes. If the performance is good, I’ll have even more motivation while coding.

Well, that’s it. There’s not much else to say.
