The back of her hand felt the man’s scorching palm, hot enough to startle her, and Jian Ran quickly withdrew her small hand.
The man’s gaze was deep and knowing, like the sea, causing her to feel uneasy all over.
Jian Ran mentally cursed Gu Mochen as scum, lamenting over pinching pennies and fearing hunger, she had only brought one meal, and now Gu Mochen actually wanted to snatch it from her.

Gu Mochen’s magnetic voice sounded overhead, and Jian Ran squeezed a wry smile onto her lips.

Jian Ran watched as her beloved lunchbox was taken away by Gu Mochen, feeling nothing but heartache.
Was such an obvious problem even worth asking?
Dammit, it’s too late to go to the cafeteria now, so does that mean she would have to go hungry today again?
Gu Mochen watched Jian Ran with a mournful expression, the corners of his mouth subtly curling up; the little miss said it didn’t matter, but in her heart, she probably cursed him to smithereens.

Jian Ran watched the man elegantly eat the lunch she had meticulously prepared, feeling a bitter taste in her heart, unable to do anything but stare.
Gu Mochen was undoubtedly a man with good looks; under normal circumstances, the sight of Gu Mochen dining so gracefully would enchant many women.
But now, Jian Ran truly felt heartbroken.
After a moment, Secretary Zhou came in with a takeaway box from Blue Sky Building.

The cafeteria has closed, and I have nothing to eat.”
