He clenched his fist, excitement building.

He thought for a moment.
"Should I wait until I get something that boosts my luck before upgrading anything?"
After a brief consideration, Mike decided to hold off for now. There were still two months left before the academy exam, and he wasn’t in any rush.
"The two new skills are good—especially Sacrificial Sword. For ten seconds, all my damage gets boosted by 1000%, which is insane," Mike said with a satisfied smile.
He then looked through his upgraded skills.
"Hm... Grand Weapon Mastery," he muttered. "All my weapon skills are now 20% stronger, and I also get a flat 20% critical chance."
He scrolled further, eyes narrowing in interest.
"Each weapon now has a unique passive skill too," he continued. "My sword has Severing Edge active at all times—a 30% chance to inflict bleed damage."
That alone made his damage output far more consistent.
Mike moved on to the next upgrade.
"Iron Skin evolved into Steel Skin... so my defense scaling is higher now, and physical damage resistance should be much better."
Then his gaze shifted again.
"Blood Explosion turned into Blood Bombs," he said. "So instead of now waiting for injuries, I can now actively condense bombs from my own blood"
Finally, he stopped at the last one.
"Phase Step evolved into Dimensional Step..." Mike’s lips curved upward. "Short-range teleport instead of just phasing through attacks. That’s a huge survivability boost."
He leaned back slightly, letting out a slow breath.
"With these upgrades, I’m way stronger than before—even without pushing my luck upgrades yet."
