Xibao sat upright on the heated bed, swinging his legs, and curiously watching his mother bustling about like a good child.
When he saw his mother unpack a heap of delicious food, all familiar stuff, his eyes lit up and he impatiently cried out, "Mom, Mom, mine, mine, Guoguo!" He pointed at the can.
"How sharp are your eyes?" Feng Qingxue said while still opening the can for him, pouring half of it into a bowl.
Xibao skillfully crawled back onto the bed, humming to himself as he pulled the table from the inside to the middle. He sat down in front of the table, placing his little paws on the edge, happily watching the bowl in front of him. Oh, there were slices of mandarin and sugar water inside the bowl. His chubby little hand reached out to the side and took the spoon that Feng Qingxue handed over, immediately scooping up a mandarin slice and putting it into his mouth.
Feng Qingxue tried putting a bib on him, but the little guy shook his head violently, saying "No, no!"
"If you don’t tie it, I won’t feed you."
Just one sentence made Xibao suddenly freeze, quietly letting his mother put the bib embroidered with the red word "Xibao" on him. He was so chubby, though, that the straps in the back could barely be tied together.
"Okay!" Feng Qingxue patted Xibao’s shoulder.
Xibao responded with a grunt, lowering his head to eat his own food, his spoon swinging at an astonishing speed.
By the time he licked his bowl clean, Feng Qingxue had put away everything else except the grains and dried vegetables.
The grains and dried vegetables were placed in the west corner. The soldiers had piled them there when they delivered them, as per her instructions.
The room didn’t have any partitions, no separate living room or bedroom, but it was quite spacious. The bed was in the east, and the west side was piled with grains, potatoes, and other things. It was a bit messy, but there was no choice.
Four bags of grains were refined flour, placed on two parallel benches.
Feng Qingxue opened the bag to check the flour inside, and her vision suddenly went dark. Her head spun.
She stood still for a while until the dizziness passed. She still felt uncomfortable, so she leaned against the wall and took a few deep breaths, and muttered: "What’s wrong with me?"
She checked her own pulse, and before she could figure anything out, she saw the calendar on her watch.
"Am I pregnant?" As she took a clearer look at the calendar, her fingertips felt slippery pulses.
As soon as Lu Jiang entered, he heard this sentence. He immediately put down what he was carrying, came over to her with large strides, held her in his arms, and his face was instantly filled with concern and joy. "What did you just say? Pregnant? Is Xibao going to be a brother?"
As he asked, he calculated in his mind that his wife seemed to have missed her period by a month and a half.
Seeing his appearance, Feng Qingxue smiled and said: "Is it because you and I are telepathic? Or are you telepathic with the baby? I just felt his existence, and you came home."
This was an admission of her pregnancy.
Lu Jiang embraced her, laughing like a child, "I’m a dad again!"

He stood up angrily with the bowl in his hands, aiming the mouth of the bowl at the couple, and shouted loudly: "There’s none left!"
