As soon as Mother Qi’s words were out, Qi Taiguo’s heart sank, and sure enough, Cheng Su pulled open the door, lips pressed tightly together, giving him a cold look.

"I am not afraid of check-ups, provided they are voluntary, not deceived by you into a secret registration for a doctor’s visit. I really thought you were unwell, only to find out my concern was a joke," Cheng Su said expressionlessly, with a cold laugh.
Mother Qi’s gaze fluttered, and she retorted strongly, "I truly was feeling dizzy; I just took the opportunity to have you get a check-up for your own good!"
Cheng Su scoffed, "Mother-in-law, whether you’re really feeling unwell or not, you know in your heart. Not to mention whether I’m sick or not, if I really had any issues and couldn’t have children, would you want me and Taiguo to divorce, is that it?"
"Cheng Su!" Taiguo’s heart tensed, grabbing her arm.
Qi Fenglian was also taken aback. His sister-in-law really did speak shockingly!
As for Mother Qi, her face was as ugly as if she had eaten excrement, so terrible that her pointing hand trembled, unable to speak a word.

Cheng Su met his gaze steadily, a glimmer of disappointment in her eyes. Without a word, she turned and went back into her room, closing the door behind her.
Taiguo felt a pang of panic. He moved instinctively toward her, but hearing Fenglian inside the room comforting their mother, he bit his lip and decided to go in and try to help calm things down first.
