Huo Beijiang’s gaze swept over the hall ominously, a façade of a smile skimmed past He Rongxi’s family members. Turning toward Huo Linong who was stumbling, he inquired, “Principal Huo, why are you just standing there looking stupid?”
“I… I’m taking a walk!”
“The host hasn’t left yet, why are you in such a hurry? You should go back and eat.”
Huo Linong wanted to berate this scoundrel in his mind. Seeing he had nowhere to hide, he walked to Huo Beijiang and said softly, “Don’t do anything crazy!”
Huo Beijiang smirked menacingly, “What do you consider ‘crazy’?”
“Like bringing a bunch of people to trash this restaurant, or pushing He Rongxi into bankruptcy?”
Huo Linong thought for a moment. The more he thought, the worse he felt. Knowing this brat, nothing was impossible for him.
Huo Beijiang couldn’t help but laugh, “As a man of literature, you certainly have a vivid imagination!”
Feeling embarrassed, Huo Linong said, “My apologies.”
Huo Beijiang would have beaten him if he were not his father. He didn’t help his wife when she was bullied and hid in the bathroom instead.
Putting it in mind, he summoned the waiter he had redirected earlier.
“Hello, Captain Huo. How can I help you?” The waiter, dressed in a white shirt and a black vest, clearly held a higher position than the rest.
Huo Beijiang’s gaze swept icily over his name badge before speaking ominously, “Supervisor Chen, I asked you to take care of the people who came with me earlier, where are they now?”
“They were there…” Supervisor Chen pointed to the double-seated area, but his words suddenly halted. There was no one there, and he was sweating profusely in anxiety.
Although Captain Huo had not visited often, he was always with significant figures. His manner and communication skills were indicative of his stature among them.
They knew not to cross him; one mistake and the entire restaurant could pay the price.
“I apologize, Captain Huo. I’ll find out what happened right away.” As the supervisor scrambled to summon the manager, he also gathered every member of the dining hall staff to understand what had happened.
“You’re all in charge of the guests in this hall. Where did my guest go? Who saw where they went?” Within earshot of Huo Beijiang, Supervisor Chen dared not raise his voice, instead he interrogated them in a low voice.
“I was gone for barely ten minutes, how did they disappear? How do you serve customers?”
The waiter who had expelled the customers widened his eyes in fear and remained silent amongst the crowd.
Huo Beijiang observed the crowd from the side. His gaze landed on the waiter, he pointed, “You, stay. The rest of you, get out!”
“Yes, yes, yes…” A dozen people hurriedly fled.
“Speak!” Huo Beijiang’s frosty gaze fell on him like a bone-chilling knife, drenching the waiter in a cold sweat.
The supervisor also noticed something was wrong and impatiently urged, “Aren’t you going to tell us, where’s the guest?”
“They… they… were… were driven away by me.” The trembling waiter regretted his decision, “It wasn’t my idea, it was theirs.”
He pointed a shaking finger in Jing Tong’s direction.
Although he was smart enough to figure out from the previous conversation that everything was the rich lady’s idea, as a notable figure in the provincial capital, He Rongxi was not someone he could afford to offend.
