Huo Beijiang smiled bitterly. Was this what he deserved for his actions? From a young age, he had been domineering and authoritarian, always expecting others to accommodate him. Yet now, because of a young girl, he was forced to swallow his pride.

“What are you looking at?” Jiang Nanfei felt uncomfortable under his gaze. Realizing their posture wasn’t quite right, she quickly stepped back, only for him to grab her wrist and pull her forward, pulling her directly into his embrace.

Once her hand was freed, Jiang Nanfei took three steps back like a mouse retreating from a cat. She finally looked up at him, only to find him not looking at her, leaving her to gaze at his chin.
“What are you here for?”
Huo Beijiang initially intended to explain to her about the night before when he got drunk and had to be sent home by her, which was utterly humiliating for him. But he found it hard to say when he looked at her.

“I want you to speak, not me.”
“Don’t you have anything to say? I’m just a stranger to you.”
“Heh…” He scoffed, his laugh deep and powerful, and his voice was full of casual arrogance. “We’re not strangers anymore.”
Jiang Nanfei didn’t catch what he said, “What did you say?”
“Nothing, just say whatever you want to say. I’m a man, I don’t like forcing women. If it’s not too outrageous, maybe I’ll agree.”
