Chapter 248: Chapter 248: The Multiverse Tournament(Part 18)
"Looks like that girl is participating in the first match. This should give us an idea of just how powerful she really is," Mused Jules, watching intently as the participants for the first match of the final contest took their places.
"Yeah, she’s definitely one of the biggest threats we might have to face, so the more we know about what she’s capable of before one of us has to take her on, the better," Aster nodded in agreement.
Everyone had been brought to a large stadium, with a massive arena in the middle. All five teams were spread out across the bleachers overseeing the arena.
Aurora was one of the participants in the first match, her opponent was from Ariodred’s team.
A barrier then formed over the bleachers, protecting the audience, before Kilzachs’s voice echoed out across the stadium...
"Alright, this is it, the final contest! Whoever wins this tournament will win the whole competition for their team and be awarded the promised time travel device! The countdown will begin soon, and we’ll kick things off."
"Seriously, what the hell was the point of the previous contests? We’re the only team that hasn’t lost anyone, everyone who died among the other teams lost their lives for no reason," Remarked Raven with a grimace.
"Yeah...well, at least they knew what they were getting themselves into. Meanwhile, we ended up here completely by accident," Pointed out Celia, right as a large, holographic ’5’ appeared over the arena, before ticking down to four.

The instant the countdown ended, Aurora let out a sigh and cracked her neck, before getting down on all fours and racing forward rapidly like a cat.
Her opponent suddenly flew up, wind swirling around him, before he fired out a blast of wind down towards her.
She swiftly canceled it out with a burst of dark, shadowy energy from her mouth, before more shadowy energy erupted all around her, spreading out across the arena and shrouding her.
Her opponent began to fly up higher and charge up wind blasts in his hands, before stiffening as she leapt out of the smokescreen with immense speed, launching herself several meters up into the air and zipping up behind him in the blink of an eye.
He quickly spun around and began to raise his arms as the charged up wind in his hands intensified, before she swiftly grabbed his wrists and slammed her forehead against his, dazing him before knocking the wind out of him as she slammed her knee against the middle of his torso, a sharp wheeze ringing out upon impact.
She then twisted her body across in mid-air, whipping him across before flinging him down towards the arena with a powerful snap of her arm.
As he went hurtling down towards the floor, he managed to unleash an intense burst of wind below him to break his fall, his back softly thudding against the floor before he quickly rolled out of the way in alarm as Aurora came plummeting down towards him with her fists balled together.
A deafening crash rang out as her fists collided against the arena with a devastating impact, triggering a slight shockwave that knocked her opponent off-balance as he got back onto his feet.
As he stumbled back, she lunged at him, shadowy energy swirling around her claws before she inflicted a deep gash across his right side as she shot past him and slashed at him with her claws.
As blood gushed and streamed down his waist, he began to fly back up while clutching the wound with a pained grimace, right as Aurora fired out a rapid shadowy blast, hitting his back and knocking him back down.
She then sprinted towards him rapidly as he began to get back up, leaping forward and slamming her knee onto the middle of his back, a sharp yell of pain ringing out before she grabbed hold of his hair and drove his head towards the floor.
A loud thunk rang out as his forehead collided against the arena, a dazed groan ringing out as Aurora lifted his head back up, before slamming it against the floor of the arena again, his body going limp and slumping as the impact knocked him out.
Aurora let out a slow, quiet exhale as she got off her unconscious opponent and stretched her arms up, tapping his body with her foot to make sure he was out cold.
"Looks like that brings the first match to an end, the winner is Aurora Pretorius!" Announced Kilzachs, before Aurora was suddenly teleported to the bleachers with the rest of her teammates, who shrunk back away from her as she glanced at them.
"She’s seriously strong. She seemed pretty laid-back through that entire fight," Remarked Aster warily.
"Yeah, she’s definitely holding back a whole lot, I don’t think we’ve seen anything close to her full power yet," Added Raven grimly.
"On the bright side, it looks like she isn’t killing unnecessarily. She made a pretty deliberate effort to knock that guy out instead of kill him...he’s definitely going to wake up with a nasty concussion, but it’s better than being dead," Chimed in Akila.
"I’m just glad I don’t have to fight someone that strong. Good luck to you guys," Sighed Tacitus dryly.
"I definitely wouldn’t mind fighting her, it looks like she packs one hell of a punch," Grinned Colt with gleam in his eyes.
"You are a strange one," Responded Antel in bemusement.
"Oh, you don’t know the half of it," Muttered Lexia in exasperation.
"Alright, let’s keep this going! The participants for the second match, head on down to the arena!" Came Kilzachs’s voice.
"Good luck," Remarked Wistari, as Nero got onto his feet.
"You’ve got it pretty rough. If you win your first match, your next opponent will be her," Added Akila, as Nero nodded and headed for the stairs leading down to the arena, a determined gleam in his eyes...
