I touched my neck when he removed his mouth, wincing slightly when I felt the soreness and pain on my skin.
However, the thing that I was dreading didn’t happen. I didn’t even know if I was really dreading it or what. The thought of it made me anxious, and I raised my voice at him.
Averting my gaze to the man, I sighed apologetically.
"You really thought I would mark you without your permission?" Maverick asked me, his unwavering gaze making me feel even more sorry.
"I am sorry about that," I said, and he smiled.
He shook his head at me.
"You don’t need to be. I didn’t feel any hindrance in your voice. You were just shocked by the turn of events, which makes me even more proud that the woman I love doesn’t hate the idea of being marked by me. And if she thinks I am a beast, it’s even better. Because I am indeed one who is going to rave her, eat her, pleasure her, drink her, and do everything possible with her for the rest of her life," Maverick whispered.
I breathed heavily, biting my bottom lip, when I felt him growing inside me again.

Just imagine how long I have been waiting to find my woman, the one I would give my everything to," Maverick rubbed his nose up and down my throat, licking me like an unhinged beast he calmed to be, the animalistic desire pulling in his eyes, making me clench my fists.
He smiled as if he could feel the nervousness coursing in my veins before pecking my lips.
"However, I can wait. After all, I have the rest of the eternity to do it," Maverick whispered and slipped from inside me, making me groan in pleasure.

"Why are you making it sound like I took away your dignity and raped you or something?" I asked, a little amused at his choice of words.

I nodded in understanding.
"I like the sound of it. I could rape the beast Alpha, the one no one could touch for so long," I grinned.
A chuckle left my mouth when he glared at me as if he was the one being wronged, making me shake my head.
"Can I look a little more into my family?" I paused.
There is a chance that the people in my pack are alive somewhere, and I wanted to meet them. I hope to meet my people, the ones I was born to protect because I was the next alpha after my parents.
"I hope you understand this is important to me. I want to see if they would accept me and agree to make a new pack or if I can persuade them to join yours, hopefully," I added.
I thought he would show some kind of hindrance because I haven’t heard of Dark Callisto pack letting outsiders inside their pack. However, to my surprise, he agreed with the arrangement, and I smiled gratefully.
As Maverick continued to take me back, my pupils dilated when I felt a whoosh of wind, giving us only enough time to hide behind the closest tree.
What the hell? My heartbeat increased its pace, and Maverick settled me down.
"Stay here, my love. Let me see what’s the matter," he said to me, and I nodded my head before gulping, hugging myself because, despite the calming heat, I was still in no position to fight back anyone.
And for anyone to dare to attack us when I was with the beast Alpha, they were either too confident in their powers or plain morons.
I peeked from behind the tree and saw Alpha Maverick pulling out the arrow from the tree trunk we were walking beside.
An arrow? Was this person here for me because I like fighting back with a bow and arrow too?
"What’s that?" I asked Alpha Maverick, and as we were about to come from behind the tree, we heard another swoosh, the arrow moving right from beside my head. My heart skipped a beat before it started to beat at the pace of a bullet train.
The person barely missed. Did he miss the shot, or was he scaring me?
I looked at the note that Maverick unrolled from around the arrow.
"I told you to stay behind the tree, didn’t I?" Maverick asked me as he mind-linked his team.
Under normal circumstances, I would’ve given him a fighting reply about how I didn’t like hiding, but the note’s content left me frozen in my place.
[I warned you before too. She is mine. It looks like you didn’t take it seriously. Now wait for the outcome of your actions tonight.] The note said, and I looked at Alpha Maverick questioningly.
What did the note mean by the person warned before? Does it mean he has received a note like this before, too? I wondered.
