Chapter 12: Chapter 12 "Ru Feng’s Whereabouts (2)"
Bai Hua rushed towards the path, following the lingering scent of Ru Feng and others. "You’ll pay for touching one of my sisters."
Bai Hua was someone who speak less and rarely showed emotions, but to her, Ru Feng and Long Wei were just like her real sisters and the medium which connected them was their husband, Xuan.
She followed with everything she had but ended up at the back gates of the city, used for the exits.
"Halt!"
Someone shouted as she slowed down when the gates came into her sight. The shout from one of the guards also halted her movements.
The guard was a peak Qi Awakening realm cultivator, while he didn’t notice Bai Hua’s cultivation because she was only using her qigong to catch up to Ru Feng and others.
The one who halted her spoke in a stern tone, his words laced with warning. "This place is out of reach for common folks; only those with the city lord’s permission can use this path."
"Leave this place immediately."
Bai Hua, unfettered by his threat, asked in a stern voice, clear to every man present there, "Did you see the woman with red hair with others who went through this path?"
But her question was met with another warning, "I said this place is off-limit for common people. If you don’t leave, then don’t blame us afterwards."
Bai Hua knew that some people won’t open their mouth unless they face the reality. Thus, she released her cultivation of the 5th level of the Spirit Vein realm, startling the guards.
She deliberately pressured them till they were on their knees, then asked again, "Did you see her?"
"NO!"
The one in the front who threatened her spoke, his voice sloppy as he felt it hard to even speak, but seeing him finally speaking, Bai Hua retracted her aura.
"Tell me what you know. If you dare to lie, then your head won’t be resting on your neck later." Now it was her time to threaten them.
"No one you have described like that went through this place, I swear." The guard claimed, as they hadn’t seen such a woman.
’How is this possible? I can even now sense her lingering aura.’ She felt that the guard must be lying, as her aura, even heavier than before, began to release when the guard in the back added.
"I remember, some time ago, the people of East River City did use this path to exit the city. They used a carriage, so we didn’t know who were inside. So, if you are looking for someone, then they must be inside it."
This definitely didn’t answer her question, but at least it gave her some clue.
She wanted to rush and follow those people, but leaving without notifying Xuan wouldn’t be the right thing to do. So, she turned and left.
Once she was gone, the guards sighed in relief, not knowing how they should explain this to their superior.

On the other side, inside the room of the courtyard where Xuan and others were staying.
Long Wei climbed on top of Xuan, their robes still intact while Xuan had a wryly smile on his face, "Don’t you think this isn’t the right time yet?"
Long Wei answered, her eyes filled with desire, "We have already done it once, what’s stopping us from doing it twice? And don’t think of me as some pervert."
She made cute faces in front of Xuan. "I’m doing this so you can recover your memories sooner."
She leaned on him for a kiss, as Xuan stopped her, "Not that I’m denying your advancement, but don’t you think that our lessons are still not completed?"
In reply, Long Wei frowned, "Incomplete! Husband, you have already learned things which took me months if not years in just a few hours."
She once again leaned, closer to him that she can feel his breath on her lips, she spoke before leaving for a long kiss, "I’m done with waiting."
Just as her lips made contact with his. "Thud."
The door of the room burst open with Bai Hua entering inside. This startled the two love birds, especially Long Wei, who now had veins bulging on her head.
First those people back in the mountain, then Ru Feng and Bai Hua. After that, the city lord Zhao Zen Wu and now Bai Hua again has interrupted her moment with Xuan.
Her anger rose, she glared at Bai Hua, "Why do you have to come now of all times?"
Bai Hua ignored her words and looked at Xuan with a little unnerved tone, "We have an emergency."
Xuan saw disturbing expressions on Bai Hua’s face. He rolled Long Wei from his top and got on his feet. He asked, "What happened? Why do you look so disturbed?"
Then he looked past Bai Hua to find Ru Feng, but she was nowhere to be seen. He questioned in a worried tone, "Where is Ru Feng?"
Bai Hua spoke with a low voice, she didn’t know how Xuan will take this news. "Ru Feng...She went missing."
"What?" Even Long Wei who was annoyed by Bai Hua’s intrusion felt shocked when she heard this.
Long Wei looked at Xuan, She also had same thoughts as Bai Hua and felt anxious about Xuan’s reaction.
They didn’t have memories of Xuan’s anger but their intuitions were telling them that this is akin to a disaster.
He asked, surprisingly his tone was serene but there was a hidden undercurrent behind it, "Tell me how this happened?" his eyes on Bai Hua who gulped and answered.
Bai Hua told them how she and Ru Feng found many things about Xuan’s past but still there were many thing that they need to know.
Then she continued that during their returning, Ru Feng was behaving oddly which she didn’t sensed at first.
"First, I didn’t feel it strange when Ru Feng told me that she is preparing something for our husband and wanted me to go alone, but when I felt something was amiss, I followed her but it was too late." She explained further.
Xuan still had that quiet tone, he asked, "So we have no clue whether she went with them on her own or they have forced her?"
Bai Hua shook her head, "I have no idea about that, but from asking the guards who were there at that moment, they said about East River City people and by their tone, they seem to be some important individuals."
There was a silence for a while. Xuan closed his eyes as he wasn’t expecting problems knocking on his door this soon.
