Ru Feng proudly spoke of her origin, "I was the phoenix, the symbol of reincarnation."
But soon her tone lowered, "but now I’m a human with traces of vermilion bird which was the reason why that pervert lord of the city wanted to take me as his wife."
Long Wei laughed, "Ha-ha so if the old man was a day later, you would have been married to some lord of a city." She mocked but stopped laughing when met by Xuan’s glare.
Though he might be their husband in a previous life and they just met in this life, however hearing this still felt like leaving a bad taste in his mouth.
Ru Feng snorted, seeing Long Wei’s expressions while Bai Hu spoke, her beast ears twitching and tail swinging in back.
"I’m not human, nor I’m a proper beast in this life. Unlike me from the past who was a white tigress, a divine beast. In this life, I’m just a beast-woman, a race created from the copulation of a spirit beast and a human, though I still carry the bloodline of white tiger."
She clenched her fist and an ice symbol manifested then vaporized on her palm. Among all of the three, she was the most powerful.
Then Bai Hu continued, "This power is called cultivation."
’Cultivation!’ Xuan thought, while Bai Hu explained. "This power is bestowed to every being in this world by the heavens."
"Cultivation realms are divided into numerous stages, but the only realms known to this world are: Body Strengthening, Qi Awakening, Spirit Vein Realm, Foundation Establishment, Core Formation (Initial), Golden Core, and Earth Master."
"There are rumors of an Earth Grandmaster realm cultivator living among us, but there isn’t any name which can claim to be in the Earth Grandmaster realm."
Once Bai Hu finished, Xuan asked a question, "What about the previous life’s cultivation realm? Also, are there no memories unsealed which can let me know what type of person I was in my previous life?"
Ru Feng, Bai Hu, and even Long Wei tilted their head in dejection. "We have no memories of that. In my memory, you were a beast like me, a dragon. But I don’t have much other memories than the days and nights we had spent together."
She tried to control but there was still a blush crept on her face.
After Long Wei, Bai Hu said, "To me you were a warrior who defeated me and claimed me as your mate, like the king of white tigers."
Ru Feng’s answer was the same, "To me, you were an indomitable spirit, an inextinguishable fire which attracted me and embraced me in your arms."
Xuan sighed. ’I have no clue of my past and the only possible person would be that old man but now he’s gone.’
"But what about my current life? Isn’t it also covered in mystery, and who would be my father that the people were trying to kill me for what he had done in the past?"
With no idea of his current life, he decided to ask his wives who had more knowledge of this world.
Ru Feng then thought of something and suggested, "I have an idea. While coming here, I saw a city, a few miles away from here. Maybe there we can ask about the Yu family."
With no objection to her idea, Long Wei and Bai Hu nodded in agreement.
Ru Feng then glared at Long Wei and spoke, "As for your origin, you are indeed a human but not at the same time."
This confused Xuan who also looked at Long Wei, who had a proud smile on her face. He asked, "What is this about?"
Long Wei said, as if telling the story of her achievements. "Last night when I reached this place, you were alone looking for that old man. At that time you were indeed a human and after spending time with me, you jumped on me like a beast and began devouring my every being."
She even lowered her dress, showing his bite marks on her chest. Flaunting to Bai Hu and Ru Feng who turned their faces in jealousy.
Then she continued, "That’s when I realized that you are also a dragon but at the same time you aren’t."
"So, let’s assume for now that I’m a human." After that Xuan asked a few things about cultivation realm and found out that he is a peak Body Strengthening cultivator, just a step away from stepping into Qi Awakening realm.
"Wait!" suddenly he said as a new memory surfaced in his head. He could see the old man yelling at a child, while telling him to read some texts.
While he cannot see the face of the old man but the child was indeed Xuan. He tried to look at the old man but even after doing so hard, he only felt a pain which shook him as he pulled his head.
"AAAHH!" He cried in pain, shocking Ru Feng, Bai Hu, and Long Wei.
"Husband! What happened?" they asked in unison.
Xuan tried to calm his pain and when it subsided till he stopped feeling it, he explained. "A memory surfaced in my mind upon learning about cultivation arts."
"In that memory, I was a child, living with an old man. It was the memory of this place, from a few years ago I guess."
Ru Feng asked with her curious gaze, "What did you find in that memory?" Long Wei and Bai Hu nodded, they also find it exhilarating to know what was the sudden resurface of memory?
"It was a cultivation method. That old man was teaching me a cultivation method." Xuan explained while still recalling the cultivation technique.
"Primordial Demi-Beast Ascension Cultivation Method!" Xuan murmured the name.
Suddenly Long Wei, Bai Hu, and Ru Feng felt that time had stopped. The world around them had stopped breathing and then like a thunderous roar, the clouds suddenly covered the world with darkness.
When time resumed, they saw familiar power surging within Xuan. They wanted to approach him but the Qi was surrounding his body like sharp blades which was then absorbed inside.
They stepped a few steps back when they felt the same sensation like in their memories, whenever Xuan used to cultivate, giving a nostalgia to them.
