It was stupid of him to forget such a powerful ability but he knew why. He put too much emphasis on his traits and after he learnt he can enhance his strength with images he focused on that.
While the boost of an image was incredibly high it put too much burden on his soul unlike haki. He sighed once more, ’ I should start focusing more on that ability.’
If he did that before it would’ve saved him a lot of trouble and after suffering such a set back from using images he knew haki had to be the go to ability from now on.
And just like that 3 more months passed, now he can use his traits as long as he doesn’t over do it. He still cannot use haki though as it needs too much will.
It’s the reason using it for so long leads to a headache. He crawled out of his hole under the boulder and swam away. He felt disgust the moment he saw weeds and grass.
Having been eating them and only them for the past six months he was naturally too tired of them. Right now he needed meat, any meat, he would even settle for the disgusting spider he ate once.
He saw a lot of fish along the way but they were all normal unawakened fish and he was not interested in them. Awakened beasts tasted way better.
After swimming for a few kilometres he saw it, a fish like the one he saw 3 months ago or it could be the same fish he doesn’t know. It had long teeth that jutted out of it lower jaw.
On it head was a silver horn and it long slim body was over 4 metres long and covered by shining silver scales. This thing was merely a rank 1 and it was larger than he was.
Now he felt the pain of short people who had kids who were taller than them. If he was being honest he was very small for a rank 2, especially since he was some kind of dragon and dragons were know for their size and strength.
Even after eating that flower and gaining over 3 points from it he was still slightly above 3 metres, he was still kind of pissed about that.
It was a rank 3 with sky grade bloodline but alas, he receives very few points from plants, the only reason he even got that many was because it had some consciousness.
He tried to forget about his plight and swam towards the fish. Since he learnt the ability to hide his aura he had been doing it constantly. Not only will it draw less enemies it will make hunting easier.
Just like right now, the fish did not sense him in this dark waters of the swamp filled with vegetation. It only saw him when he was only a metre away but by then it was too late.
He bashed it head with his hand and shattered it skull. He ate it in large gulps but it tasted a bit bland, actually it was still good but after eating that sweet rank 3 flower the rank 1 fish was nolonger as appetising.
’ Is this how kids feel about vegetables after eating ice cream for the first time?’ he lamented having ever eaten that delicious stupid flower, it has poison his tongue.
Now to satiate his cravings for meat he will need to find something stronger and more nutritious. Which was convenient because it was time to test his new poison.
Well it was new six months ago but as they say, as long as it never leaves the box it will never be old, or maybe they didn’t he didn’t remember.
It took him a few days to find a suitable rank 2, he had seen some but they were usually in groups and he was not messing with groups, he didn’t want to get jumped, it is not fun.
His other problem was bloodline grades, he realised how rare higher grade bloodlines were, of all the rank 2’s he saw and sensed in the last few days, not one was earth grade let alone sky grade.
And as for those above sky grade, he had only met one in his life which was the deer, he didn’t even know the name of that grade, or maybe he did.
’ Didn’t the system mention it somewhere?’ he went back to check old notifications and there it was, the heaven grade golden inchor Melon.
He wasn’t sure heaven grade was directly above sky grade but it made sense to go from sky to heaven. ’ I really need to start paying more attention to the system notifications.’ (- _ -)
He turned his attention back to his target. It was giant frog, even larger than a buffalo. The frog was on a giant floating leaf basking in the sun.
He didn’t get too close lest he alert it, he remained more than a hundred metres away and slowly released the poison. It was invisible and unlike the flower he didn’t give it any scent either.

The flower was able to put him to sleep in mere minutes. So the poison must’ve adjusted to his level otherwise the frog would’ve been out by now. It was only after 45 minutes that the frog fell over fast asleep.
But he didn’t move, instead he let the poison disperse in the wind and waited, he wanted to find out how long it will last. After 5 hours the frog woke up confused.
It croaked and looked around vigilantly but saw nothing then continued sunbathing. Ved was amazed, even though it took 45 minutes to put something an entire grade below him to sleep it was because he was not actively boosting the poison.
He can made it work faster through infusing his will but that would increase the chances of it being detected. However that would be less likely in a fight as it would be expected of him to use his will.
He grinned, this will be his trump card, as long at he plays it right he will be able catch anybody off guard.
