Lea continued. “All flying beasts are not allowed to leave the Motou mountains… does that make you wonder about anything?”
Wonder about anything? Gu Mengmeng stared dumbly at Lea. She shook her head.
Lea smiled. “They say it is to protect the sacred objects, but… don’t you think it is more like an imprisonment in disguise?”
Ian had said that they were not allowed to leave despite the harsh and cruel living conditions. They would be labeled as shameless traitors the moment they left, and would be attacked to death by all the other flying beasts if they ever returned… this was no proper way to live. It was even worse than life imprisonment, as one’s offspring would also be trapped at the mountain range.
If it was to protect some objects, they could just bring the items to another mountain to guard. Why must it be the Motou mountain range with its terrible weather conditions?
“Now that you put it this way… could it be they are guarding the Love of the Sky as well as the Motou mountain itself?” Gu Mengmeng guessed.
Lea nodded profoundly. “That is why no flying beasts are allowed to fly out of the territory. They are afraid of this information leaking out. Even Ian has never told anyone about the Motou mountains despite having left it. Gu Mengmeng chuckled. “Yes yes yes, the two of you are the best. I must have saved the Milky Way in my previous life, and was rewarded by meeting the two of you in this life.”
With that, Gu Mengmeng kissed Lea and Elvis on their cheeks. She felt like she was humoring a couple of kids. Nevertheless, the two males enjoyed her affection very much.
Lea waved his tail at Elvis. “Great Wolf king, it looks like we must take our journey to the next level now.”

Lea explained. “We have to save this Milky Way in order to meet Mengmeng again in our next life… mmm, if he doesn’t need saving, I will go and beat him up myself. Then you can come and chase me off… what do you think?”
“Yes.” Elvis’ answer was short and sweet.
Lea turned to look at Gu Mengmeng. “So Mengmeng, who is this Milky Way? Where is he?”
“Pfft… hahaha… are you two trying to make me die from laughter, so that you can take over my legacy?”
Lea gazed tenderly at Gu Mengmeng’s laughing expression.
After laughing with her for a bit, Lea continued. “But Mengmeng, do you know how do the vultures choose the leader of their tribe?”
Gu Mengmeng answered without even the need to think, “They probably fought it out? Whoever was the strongest would be the leader.” Wasn’t that the way of the Beast World?
Lea shook his head with a faint smile. “No, the leader is whoever can sense the messages transmitted by that great lord.”
“That great lord again. Just who the hell is he?!” Gu Mengmeng frowned. Her instincts told her that she should know this great lord. After all, Gregory had frankly told her that this great lord was protecting the Heart of the Desert and she had gotten that item. It proved that she had at least met this great lord before.
Although there was a missing chunk in her memories and she just could not recall what happened, none of them were injured at all. This proved that they didn’t snatch the Heart of the Desert by force. So she should be on good terms with this great lord. But how come she just could not remember anything related to him?
