Gu Mengmeng was about to speak when the Beast Deity gestured to her to stop and he said, “Just like the usual old rules, you can only ask questions after the drama ends.”
Gu Mengmeng nodded and said, “Fine, you shall begin then.”
But the Beast Deity shook his head and looked at Elvis. “I have not accepted him yet, why would I allow him to watch drama with us?”
Gu Mengmeng held her forehead and said, “Father~ My husband has been there running for almost half a day…”
The Beast Deity snorted and said. “So what? How much pain did you suffer to give birth to the wolf cubs for him? And what about him? What did he do? Why can he enjoy the process, while you have to bear the pain?”
Gu Mengmeng’s face flushed red and she shook the Beast Deity’s shoulders, saying, “Father, remember who you are! You are a deity, how could you be this dirty?!”
The Beast Deity was dizzy from her shaking. Even though he said that he was not giving in, he snapped and instantly Elvis was brought to their side.
This amount of running was not much difficulty to Elvis. Even though he was sweating slightly, his face was still normal and he was not panting heavily. This greatly upsetted the Beast Deity as he did not manage to vent his frustration.
As such, he used one hand to hug Gu Mengmeng’s shoulders, and the other hand slapped away Elvis’s wolf claws that intended on holding Gu Mengmeng’s hands, as he said, “Did you know how painful it was for my daughter to give birth to your children?”
Elvis nodded and his expression became serious.
Hede and the four little ones were delivered by him personally. The painful shriek from Gu Mengmeng was a nightmare for Elvis up till now.
In Elvis’ memory, there were two times that Gu Mengmeng had made him so overwhelmed with pain that he wanted to die.
The first time she was extremely quiet. It was that time when she was carried from the Snake King valley by Snakel. As though she was a lifeless and broken doll, her blood created a long trail on the ground, yet she did not even cry, just like she was dead.
The other time she was extremely loud. It was that time when she was giving birth and her screams were so ear deafening that he could feel his heart shatter. It was as though his bones were bitten by thousands and ten thousands of ants and it was so painful that he felt numb.
These two times were the nightmares that Elvis would never forget.
Seeing Elvis nod, the Beast Deity could only scoff and say, “You know? What do you know?! You have never given birth to a child, how could you know?!”
Elvis was speechless and could only hang his head low, with a look of ‘I committed an offence’.
The Beast Deity laughed softly, as though he was up to no good.
Gu Mengmeng gently pushed the Beast Deity and said, “Father, you are an upright character, don’t laugh so creepily… otherwise I would suspect that you are an antagonist behind the scenes.”
The Beast Deity raised his head and said, “My precious daughter is my life. I would fight with all my might against anyone who makes you suffer! For you, I would not care about whether I am supposed to be upright or not!”
This drama king was really very stubborn, Gu Mengmeng thought that… Hmm… She’d better not bring Elvis back the next time.
“Fine, then Father, how about you tell us how Elvis can be accepted by you?” Gu Mengmeng smiled in a well-behaved manner, as though she was a studious student asking a teacher for the semester-end test questions.
The Beast Deity glanced at Elvis and said, “Why should my daughter be suffering while you enjoy the childbirth? You should at least suffer the same amount of pain for me to be alright.”
Elvis nodded and said, “You’re right, great Beast Deity. I should have bore the pain, Xiao Meng should not be the one taking responsibility for my mistake.”
