Bai Lan suddenly stopped sobbing and stared at Gu Mengmeng for a long while before nodding. “You are right.”
Gu Mengmeng didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at Bai Lan. Her answer really left Gu Mengmeng flabbergasted!
Bai Lan sniffled. “Everything is fine. Girl, don’t you be afraid! If this fellow ever bullies you in future, I will protect you even if I die doing so!”
Snakel didn’t say anything. He just lifted Gu Mengmeng into his arms and left.
Having prior experience from their previous outing, Zhan Jin Cheng and the rest weren’t surprised at his sudden departure. They just held onto the bawling Bai Lan to stop her from going after Gu Mengmeng.
Snakel had already reached his limits of tolerance today. If that Bai Lan went after them to be a third wheel, he might probably kill her.
Returning to the villa, Snakel placed Gu Mengmeng directly on the bed and kissed her lips without a word.
Gu Mengmeng struggled for a moment or two before yielding. She wrapped her arms around Snakel’s neck and kissed him back deeply.
Snakel became even more daring with Gu Mengmeng’s response.
They kissed for a long time until Gu Mengmeng was gasping for breath. Only then did Snakel let go of her. He gritted his teeth as he asked, “Why should you die with her? Even if you have to die, you should die in my arms, under my protection.”
Gu Mengmeng was stunned for long time before finally realizing that Snakel was referring to Bai Lan.
Chuckling, she replied, “Bai Lan drank too much and was just speaking the nonsense of a drunkard. Why take her so seriously?”
“But she said I will bully you.” Snakel frowned. He was very annoyed by that comment.
Gu Mengmeng shot back. “Will you bully me?”
Snakel’s eyes dimmed as the corners of his lips curled up. “Perhaps in specific locations… such as on the bed?”
Gu Mengmeng blushed and gave Snakel a shove. “Stop fooling around…”
In the end, Snakel didn’t do anything beyond the boundaries of decency. He just hugged Gu Mengmeng and kissed her, before staring lingering after her as she entered the bathroom to take a shower.
Meanwhile, he sat on the bed listening to the sounds of water splashing from the bathroom. It was as if he was confining himself to the spot, seduced and tormented by the water sounds, yet unwilling to leave the room.
Gu Mengmeng smiled affectionately at Snakel when she emerged from the bathroom wearing her pajamas.
Gu Mengmeng looked down at her baggy pajamas covered in cartoon motifs. This was definitely the ultimate weapon to banish all amorous thoughts. Unless Snakel had a special fetish, it was clear that he bore no indecent intentions.
But Gu Mengmeng didn’t know that in Snakel’s eyes, all he saw was a freshly-bathed Gu Mengmeng, all warm and tender from her shower.

She had dreamed up countless proposal scenarios, but never imagined that one day, she would hear the word “wedding” spoken by a man, who was staring at her with glowing eyes the moment she emerged from the bathroom wearing cartoon pajamas.
Snakel stood up and pulled Gu Mengmeng into his chest. He rested his chin on the crown of her head and sighed. “As expected, I still can’t… I can’t bring myself to do it. I feel like I would have done you a wrong if there was no grand, romantic proposal… and I will never let my woman feel aggrieved. Tonight, I will sleep in the next room. Goodnight.”
