Become A Character Who Dies Within Three Chapters Chapter 62

Chapter 62: The Pitch-Black Monster Descends from the Sky

At this very moment, in the exile zone, flames surged sky-high, from afar looking like a small city blazing brilliantly in the darkness of night.

But while other cities lit up with lamps, this "city" burned with lives and screams.

Gunfire thundered everywhere as figures in black cloaks stormed in, carrying out a massacre with ruthless speed. Wherever they passed, only blood and corpses remained. Those who managed to react tried to flee, but flee... where could they possibly run?

Into Zone 5, which lay shrouded in darkness? If so, they would die even faster than under the muzzles of guns.

The third young master of the Robert family held a pistol in his hand, strolling, fresh blood clinging stickily to the soles of his shoes.

He clicked his tongue, raising his hand to signal his subordinates to halt.

The slaughter had almost reached its end. Now, only a few pitiful ants remained, huddling together for warmth, as if such closeness could make their deaths any less cold.

Pathetic. Despicable. And these insects were about to be granted equal citizenship with him? Truly unacceptable!

The third young master thought with mocking amusement. He spread his arms, lips curling as he looked down on the trembling figures clinging to one another, and sneered:

"Even stepping on your blood disgusts me. It reeks of sewage—can you smell it? Just like your identities. Your flesh and blood are stitched together with garbage. I’m simply returning them to where they belong—dust and ashes."

He smirked, eyes narrowing in delight.

"Boom!"

Suddenly, a massive burning log crashed down, startling the group in front of him.

Lily was pressed against the ground, wrapped tightly in Julia’s arms. Julia seemed intent on using her frail body to shield Lily, yet she was far too thin, trembling nonstop from fear—or was it grief?

Lily couldn’t tell. She only felt some hot liquid seeping down her collar. She knew—the children who had been following Julia were likely reduced to ashes by now. Was Julia crying for them?

Her hand gripped Lily’s so tightly that Lily felt pain.

And yet, strangely enough, for the first time in her life—other than Lucian—Lily felt warmth from another person.

Instinctively, she raised her hand and gently caressed Julia’s torn and battered hand.

Mother... mother...

"Alright, now get ready to die. Come on—who wants to go first?"

The group in front of the third young master was down to fewer than five people; at his words, they trembled even more.

The third young master narrowed his eyes, lifted his gun, and kept moving among the crowd.

At that moment, a figure suddenly lunged forward, throwing their whole strength into the move—so fast the third young master couldn’t react in time.

Felix leapt up and wrapped himself around the third young master, dragging him to the ground and struggling to wrench the pistol from his hand.

The third young master squinted at the man on top of him; such a bit of strength was contemptible.

He raised his leg—his body, already mechanized and unlike a normal person- and delivered a single kick that sent Felix flying, rolling to a stop in front of the others.

Julia was now crying until her vision blurred; she looked at Felix’s blood-streaked, pale face, tears streaming uncontrollably.

"A final little struggle?" the third young master sneered. "Have you seen how useless you are? An incompetent worm wants to be a hero?"

Felix was in so much pain that he could barely control his expression. His brows twitched, and a low, animal-like growl rumbled from his throat. His hands pressed hard into the ground; though his legs wavered, he managed to stand.

He faced the third young master with none of the childish insolence he used to show Louis—he looked oddly grown-up now; the blood and grime had changed him completely.

He spread his arms and stared coldly at the third young master, unable to speak—his throat felt as if it had been torn.

Facing Felix’s eyes, the third young master felt as if he were being burned; an unbearable rage surged from his chest, sweeping everything aside and urging him to annihilate it all.

His mouth twitched; he tilted his lips into a smile, a hint of madness in his gaze. "Fine... fine. You want to die first? I’ll grant your wish!"

With that, he raised his gun; he squinted, and a vision of blood spraying everywhere seemed to appear before him.

Julia wept bitterly—so useless, so utterly meaningless. She could do nothing but cry. Worthless, ineffective to the point of being infuriating!

Lily felt teardrops splattering onto her face, running down her cheek. In that moment, she thought—these people deserved to die.

But just then, as the third young master’s finger was about to pull the trigger, a tentacle tipped with a sharp, metallic spike pierced straight through his heart!

The third young master’s eyes widened, his mouth gaping as if he couldn’t believe what had just happened.

But he had no time left. His eyes bulged—and he died instantly.

His subordinates had no chance to react to the sudden turn of events.

They huddled together, eyes full of dread as they looked toward the sky.

There, the moon had been swallowed up by an enormous pitch-black shadow looming overhead.

Countless "arms" writhed in the air, each tipped with gleaming spikes that caught the faint light.

"Whizz! Thud! Thud! Thud!"

The sound of flesh being pierced echoed out. A rain of sharp spikes shot down from the heavens, impaling the third young master’s men in an instant.

Their viscera was torn apart, their bodies cleaved in two, corpses crashing down like harvested grain. In the blink of an eye, not a single one remained standing—only Felix’s trembling figure still stood tall.

No one had expected such a scene to unfold at the very end.

A pitch-black monster had descended from the sky, annihilating every last intruder.

It drew closer and closer to the ground, its spear-like limbs stabbing into the earth for support. Its massive body loomed above, tentacles writhing like those of some colossal spider.

What was it planning next? To devour them? Or to kill them the same way it had slaughtered the others?

Only Felix tilted his head back to gaze at the sky. His eyes could barely open from the pain, yet within them was an eerie calm. He even curved his lips upward—almost as if smiling.

"Hero..."
