"What is it?" Alex asked; his tone wasn’t friendly in the slightest, but Lilian acted like she didn’t notice. She stopped in front of Alex and tried to hold his hand but Alex moved his hand away, letting the girl miss.
Lillian giggled at his action, she didn’t appear awkward.
"Why is senior Alex avoiding me? Did I do something wrong?" Lilian asked, wearing a clueless face with a finger on her lower lip.
But Alex just stared down at her with a cold gaze. He had to admit that this girl was rather cute, but that was what allowed her to easily manipulate others; he would have fallen for her act if he didn’t already have experience with her.
Well, not technically him but it didn’t matter.
Without saying another word, Alex tried to move around her and continue towards the door but the girl stepped in front of him. She now had a sad expression, sad puppy eyes, and trembling lips, it was as if she was about to cry.
"Senior Alex, please wait. Are you still angry at me about last time? But I only did it so that those people would stop bullying and senior Nora, I didn’t really mean what I said." Nora spoke quickly, her tone was very sincere as she stared at Alex right in the eyes.
’She is such a good actress, she should stop being a mage and go act instead.’ Alex thought to himself.
"Then why are you here now?" He inquired.
Lilian’s expression immediately took a drastic change upon hearing Alex’s question. Her fingers played with her hair, and she lowered her gaze to Alex’s waist level; she appeared very shy.
"Well, I saw that Senior Alex isn’t like before anymore and can no longer be bullied by being my friend, so I thought we could go back to how we used to be. I’ve been very lonely in the academy since I stopped following Senior Alex and Senior Nora, but I had to keep my distance to protect both of you." She explained.
Alex’s eyes twitched as he listened to her, he had the urge to toss a lightning spell at her face. She was talking as if they were not in the same academy.
She had been lonely since she stopped hanging out with them? What a load of crap, Lillian was the second most popular student in the academy since she entered.
Her looks were second only to Laura’s; they could even be said to be equal, but both of them had different styles. Laura was a beautiful cold goddess while Lillian had the cute and adorable junior sister demeanor.
The only reason why Laura was more popular was because she was the most talented student in the academy and also came first, she was already popular before Lillian came.
Alex felt great disgust toward the girl after listening to her lie; she now wanted to hang out with him because he had stopped being trash. Fat chance.
Alex took a step closer to Lillian and bent his body slightly, bringing his face beside her ears. Lillian immediately blushed when she noticed this and her body stiffened, a shy smile forming on her face. But Alex’s next words made her entire body tremble.
"Don’t ever come near me again. If you do, I’ll make you regret it." Alex whispered softly. He didn’t wait for the girl to respond before walking past her.
Lillian stood rooted in place even after Alex left, her eyes were wide and cold sweat formed on her cute face. For some reason, Alex’s words had sent bone-chilling cold down her body.
Minutes passed but Lillian still remained standing there, her eyes fixed on the ground as if she was staring at something.
"Eh, isn’t that Lillian? What’s she doing there?"
"Did you think she came to find Senior Alex?"
"Could be, they used to be closed back in the days before she did ’that’. Maybe she wanted to apologise?"
A lot of students who came from the field saw her and chatted amongst themselves, but Lillian didn’t react; she just kept standing there.
After some time, she slowly raised her hand and stared at them; her hands were trembling.
"This feeling, I...I love it!" She suddenly said, a wild smile on her face.
Meanwhile, Alex was on his way home. Although the fights today were few, and they had closed earlier than the last two times, Emily’s school had closed much sooner, so the girl had gone home without waiting for him.
After minutes of walking, Alex finally got home. He didn’t find anyone home and guessed that Emily had followed his mother to get something for the house.
Quickly taking a bath, changing into casual clothes, and heading out.
It’s been a while since he went out alone. He wasn’t going to the RWGB today; he was going to the Farm Exp!
Taking his usual route, Alex got a cab to take him close to the border before finding a place to get into his Mr Chen outfit. He headed for the border after putting on his robe and mask.
As usual, there were some officers stationed there. Some of them had seen him before so they immediately let him through without asking questions.
Getting outside, Alex once again saw the large barren earth with the forest in the distance.
He somehow felt like he had not been here for a long time and had missed the place.
’All right, time to start farming.’ Alex thought to himself as he made his way toward the forest.
Not long after, he came across a magic beast. It was a one eyed wolf, a common ranked magic beast.
"Space bullets."
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Three invisible space bullets flew out of the star pattern that had formed above Alex and pierced the one-eyed wolf, killing it instantly.
[Mission complete, 10 exp!]
’So easy.’ Alex thought to himself as he went to store away the corpse of the wolf in his storage ring.
"Hmm, magic beasts of the common rank no longer posed any difficulties to me, should I go deeper into the forest?" Alex thought to himself after he stored the body of the beast.
Since he was now at the Expert mage rank, killing beasts at the common beast rank was no different from bullying.
At the thought of this, the image of a certain bear suddenly appeared in his mind. Alex quickly shook his head, he was getting too confident!
Why was he in a rush to go deeper into the forest? Who knows the kind of powerful creatures that could be hiding there? He might lose his life if he ran into a magic beast that was stronger than a Sage rank mage. Although the chances of that happening were almost nonexistent, it was never zero.
’After all, there are many magic beasts around here for me to level up and get stronger, no need to be in a hurry.’ Alex quickly told himself.
As for the bear he had encountered the last time, he would wait till he reached the Master mage rank before going back to kill it!
And just like that, Alex continued his hunting.
"Lightning strike!"

"Take this punch!"
Bang! Roar!

Time passed swiftly, an hour and a few minutes later.
Alex could be seen standing on a tree branch that was several meters above the ground, the indestructible robe covering his entire figure and the all-knowing mask hiding his face.
He was currently staring at his system profile.

Alex’s eyes flashed with excitement behind the all-knowing mask. He had killed a total of 34 magic beasts within the last hour and some minutes, adding the rewards from completing the weekly mission and the 60 exp points that he had previously; Alex now had 470 exp points.
This would allow him to level up the system four times. Without hesitation, Alex immediately used 400 exp points to level up his system.

A violent explosion sounded within Alex’s soul sea, the mana in his body erupted like a volcano as he directly jumped from the peak stage of the Expert mage rank to the peak stage of the Master mage rank.
The force of the explosion resulted in a violent gust of wind blowing around Alex like a tornado and causing the mana in the air to surge.
The force of the wind was so strong that the tree branch which he was standing on, which was over two meters thick, shattered into splinters and Alex dropped to the ground.
Thud!
His feet landed on the ground with a sound and caused the ground to crack under his pressure, his robe fluttering wildly.
Alex slowly lifted his hands and looked at them, a great rush of power coursing through his body. It was as if he just woke up from a dream.
He felt ten times, no, a hundred times stronger than before when he was at the peak stage of the Expert rank!
"So this is how the Master mage rank feels like."
