Emily’s POV
‘She’s just manipulating you!’
‘You’re choosing that whore over me? I am your twin brother!’
‘She’s not for you, Matt! There are women in the world. Why would you settle for someone like her?’
‘I shouldn’t have dragged you to this country!’
Those were the painful words Mason left before he left yesterday and even until now, I can still hear it ringing inside my head. I tried to ignore it, but I just can’t.
‘You chose to lose your younger brother. Don’t ever call me again.’
I squeezed my eyes closed. I love Matt and the last thing I want to happen to him is lose the people he loves just like what happened to me. I’m not like my father. I won’t insist on things that are not for me. And if...if Matt’s gonna lose his twin brother for choosing me, I’d rather him leave me even if it will hurt and I will be miserable again.
He was the only one who saw me as a human. He treasures me even when I told him about my past. He made me feel loved. He values my feelings. I love him...

I blinked twice and sucked my breath when the cashier called my attention. I apologized and grabbed my shoulder bag to pay for the groceries. I bought stocks for me and Matt while my mind’s wandering in another dimension.
My forehead creased as I rummaged through my bag and didn’t find my wallet. What...
My lips parted after I realized I forgot to grab it from my vanity and I purposely left my phone so I can’t pay using bank transfer.
I sucked my breath and glanced at the people in line. They’re looking at me with annoyed and impatient expressions. I wanted to roll my eyes but I’m at fault.
I looked at the cashier. “Uh...I left my wallet.”
“But, ma’am. You have to pay for your groceries.”
I bit my bottom lip and was about to speak again when someone dropped a black card on the counter. A tall man, standing behind me, spoke. “Charge it here.”
The cashier swallowed hard as she slowly picked up the black card. Her cheeks were flushed and I finally understood why, after looking at the man standing behind me.
Sharp eyes, thick eyebrows, proud and pointed nose, reddish lips. Everyone would have a crush on him...if he didn’t show his jerk side.
I clenched my jaws and carried the bag of groceries as I started walking away without thanking him. I went straight to the escalator and felt him stalking me behind.
“I’m gonna ask Matt about your bank account and will wire the money later,” I said without glancing at him.
“I don’t need you to pay for it. I’ll even give you money if you promise to leave my brother alone.”
I faced him angrily. “Why do you keep on pushing me away from your brother, Mason?”
He clenched his jaws. “Can’t you see? You’re making him turn his back on his family—”
“I didn’t tell him to do so! It’s his own decision.”
“Because you made him believe in lies!”
I gritted my teeth and turned my back again. I can’t believe I have to argue with him about this. He’s so blind. He can’t even listen to his own brother.
I reached the parking lot and put my groceries in the back seat. I opened the door of the driver seat but Mason pushed it closed and pushed me against the car. I remembered this scene. This happened before. When he insulted me to the bone and I ended up crying my heart out and breaking up with Matt.
He tilted his head and stared at my face. “I don’t know what my brother saw in you and I’ve been trying to open my eyes to see it, but I can’t.”
I clenched my jaws. “You can’t see it because you’re different from your brother. You’re an asshole while he’s not.”
He laughed sarcastically and leaned closer. I was shocked because of what he did. I put my hand on his chest with the intention of pushing him away but he held both of my hands and rested them between us.
“Tell me...Do you need another fck body? I can do it. I can fck you and satisfy you more than my brother can. Just leave him—Argh!”
I felt my vision snipped after I bumped him with my forehead because of anger. When I looked at him, his lips were bleeding and he’s looking at me with rage.
I was about to get in my car when he grabbed my wrist and took the key from me. He opened the door himself. He pushed me inside but he got in too. I had no choice but to move to the passenger seat and I was about to open it when he locked it.
He looked at me angrily. “I’m gonna fcking torture you until you give in and leave my brother on your own.”
My eyes widened when he started driving in the opposite direction of my condominium tower.
“MASON!” I screamed but he ignored me like a deaf.
“Where are you taking me?” I growled at him.
He glanced at me and smirked. “To hell.”
“What?”
I balled my fists and stole the steering wheel from him. He pushed me to the passenger seat but I didn’t give up. I tried pushing him too and maneuvering the car but he won’t let me. We continued fighting over the steering wheel until I heard a loud horn and saw another car in front of us.
I panicked and froze but Mason maneuvered the car and we ended up hitting the huge tree at the roadside.
I felt my vision blurring and spinning as my body felt numb. I heard someone calling my name but I slowly lost my consciousness. However, before darkness completely consumed me, I felt someone carrying me out of the car.
If it was Mason or I was rescued, I don’t know anymore. I can only think of my end. Maybe this is where I should stop fighting for this useless life.
*** Kelly’s POV
I jumped in shock and my heart raced when the glass of water slipped from my hand.
“Kelly!”
Pierce ran to the kitchen where I was. Behind him was his assistant who came here in his house to give him the documents he needed to sign.
“Don’t move, I’ll clean it,” Pierce said while I’m standing frozen.
I feel like something happened.
“P-Pierce...”
He immediately dropped the dustpan and broom before he went to me. He carried me out of the kitchen and made me sit on the couch in the living room. He checked my whole body.
“Were you hurt? Where?”
I held onto his shoulders. “Pierce, let’s call mom or dad. I wanna make sure they’re safe.”
He stared at me and nodded before he took his phone out and dialed his mother’s name. I was relieved after I made sure that they’re safe but I was shaken by fear and worry when I saw the news online about an accident involving Emily and...Mason?
