Beyond the Apocalypse Chapter 111

Vlad’s eyes widened as he heard all that. His understanding of the terminology was immense thanks to his Second Past Life memories, and he knew perfectly well what it would mean to have access to the Plane laws and Origin Force. "I would become a living god in Terra."

Freya was slightly surprised that Vlad could come to such an accurate conclusion, and it became clear the young man knew a lot about the phenomena and order of the new world. "You are right. Your perception would spread across the New Plane, and you will have access to its Origin Force, allowing your power to defy even Legends."

The woman made a small pause at this point before speaking again. "Normally, to become a World King’s Candidate, you must have dozens of thousands of people under your leadership and have performed incredible feats for the Plane Will to recognize you. The faster you rise to that stage, the more benefits you will get and the higher your chances will be. A candidate rising in a year is impressive, and they are one in a billion, but the ascension of the New Plane happened less than six months ago, so your prowess is even more shocking."

Vlad could not help but smile. Usually, the opinions of others had little impact on him, but he could not deny that being praised by the young woman felt strangely pleasant and raised his mood. However, that did not last long as he heard an annoying voice once more.

"You are too skinny!" Grey Hawk shouted, confusing Vlad and making him frown, but the old viking only continued. "It doesn’t matter if you are a World King Candidate; you are too skinny to be the Princess’ partner..."

The old Viking had not finished his sentence when a heavy blow landed on his stomach, contorting his body. The responsible party was Freya, whose eyes remained steady and calm as she looked at the young man.

Vlad’s eyes glowed with enlightenment as he finally understood the origin of the old man’s animosity. It was like a grandpa annoyed that a young man was trying to draw the attention of his granddaughter. The realization almost made him burst into laughter, but he did not dare do it upon seeing Freya’s sharp gaze on him.

’Anyway, why would he reach that conclusion?’ The only thing that Vlad and Freya had done was fight, so he did not really know why the old Viking thought he was trying to woo the young woman.

While the young man knew a lot about the customs of Heaven, he did not know about the behavior of the vikings of Valhalla. In their culture, a melee brawl, a physical confrontation often used to settle disputes or establish dominance, was not different from a dance between two possible partners, a unique perspective that Vlad had yet to understand.

Freya remained silent, and Vlad only smiled at the woman as he continued heating the stew until it was finally done. He then gave everybody a plate with the food, and they began to eat.

Smiles appeared on the faces of the four as they tasted the food since it was truly good. Even Vlad was shocked to see the type of cuisine that could be performed with the A.I. Chip. Every flavor blended perfectly, making such a taste that the group began to consume plate after plate.

Vlad and Jormungandr were not modest and ate without caring about etiquette, and Freya and Grey Hawk were the same. Vikings did not care about those things and looked down on people who paid so much attention to minor details.

Freya had finished her second plate, satisfying her hunger, before her eyes turned to the young man again, focusing on his eyes. Just like the first time, as she stared into his black eyes, she felt an abyss of wrath, and its purity mesmerized her. She then focused on the tiny cat, and in his eyes, she saw a sense of hunger that could devour the world. While Jormungandr’s eyes were impressive, they did not enchant the young woman.

She stared at the duo for a few seconds before finally speaking. "You are not human?"

Vlad stopped eating as he heard that question and smiled at the woman. "If you want to share, you must start. I can sense you are part of the human race, but I know you are not people of Terra."

Freya stared at Vlad for a moment before nodding. "Calling us humans would not be wrong; it’s just that our bodies and souls are different due to the power of the Primordial God of Bloodshed and Battle, Odinvaldr. We are part of the viking race and come from Valhalla."

"So you are aliens." Jormungandr’s eyes narrowed as he heard those words and stared at the duo, with sharpness and raising his guard. The Plane Will, the embodiment of Terra’s mind, had clearly stated that they should kill all aliens.

"Relax, Jormungandr. There is no such thing as absolute. They might come from another world, but they are humans, and if their goal doesn’t harm Terra, there is no need for animosity." Vlad smiled at the small yellow cat and calmed him before turning to the duo.

Unlike all the people in Terra who were conditioned to hate anything related to the word alien, Vlad had a different view of things, thanks to his Second Past Life memories. These were vivid recollections of a previous universe, where the connection between worlds and the interaction among different races were common, giving him a unique perspective on current events.

Vlad did not hate angels and demons simply because they were aliens. He hated demons because they would kill every man, woman, and child in their path, seeing humans as nothing more than food. As for angels, he hated them even more, knowing they were hypocrites who plotted to twist humankind, using those with power as pawns and those without as slaves for their twisted entertainment.
