Her “friends” immediately whispered among themselves.
“Married? So what? You divorced him.”
“Yeah, and his current wife is your sister. Who’s to say she won’t suddenly ‘change her mind’ and dump him too?”
“Exactly! If she does divorce him, I might just ‘accidentally’ fall in love and marry him myself.”
“Ooh, if that happens, does that mean I’d have to call you cousin?”

Each remark was another stab in the back, pushing Bai Xiyi closer to snapping.

The moment she refused, her “loyal” friends betrayed her instantly.
