Chapter 5. Bai Xiyi: “Actually, I’ve Already Moved On!”
With that, Bai Xiyan raised their tightly clasped hands, just as Ye Chen had done.
She lifted her chin slightly, her delicate face filled with determination.
“You were the one who let go first. Only then did I take his hand!”
“Even though we’re sisters, that doesn’t mean I can’t cherish someone you threw away, does it?”
Opposite her, Bai Xiyi had completely shut down.
She opened her mouth but found no words to refute.
“The little sister seemed so fragile earlier, but now she’s standing her ground!”
“Was she just pretending before?”
“No way. I study microexpressions, she was genuinely nervous earlier, and even now, she still is.”
“Who needs microexpressions? Just look at her hands. Those little tremors don’t lie.”

Normally, Bai Xiyi would have reacted to the frenzy in her chat.
But now, she couldn’t spare a single thought for it.
Her eyes were locked onto Ye Chen, and his hand, still tightly holding Bai Xiyan’s.
Her expression was numb.
Finally, she looked up, making one last desperate stand.
“But you’re my sister! He was your brother-in-law!”
Bai Xiyan glanced back at Ye Chen, her gaze softening.
But when she turned to face her sister again, her resolve hardened.
“So what? He was your past.”
“But he’s my present. My future!”
Each word stabbed into Bai Xiyi’s heart like a knife, leaving her breathless with pain.
“Damn, little sister spitting facts!”
“Yeah, no matter how intense the past was, their marriage barely lasted three years. The future’s way longer!”
“That’s why they say companionship is the most enduring love confession.”
“The way she looks at him… even a single dog like me can feel the depth of her love.”
“Brother-in-law used to look at Xiyi like that too. Now, his eyes only show respect.”
“Xiyi: Screw respect! I don’t need that crap!”

Amidst the barrage of comments, the living room remained frozen.
Bai Xiyi stared daggers at her sister.
Bai Xiyan didn’t back down an inch.
The two sisters stood like rival fighters, neither willing to yield,
As if they were dueling for the title of the world’s strongest.
Then, Ye Chen suddenly spoke softly.
“Xiyan, you haven’t blinked in so long. Your eyes must be dry. Don’t strain them fighting with your sister.”
The tension shattered.
“HOLY SHIT! Out of everything, you’re worried about her EYES?!”
“Since when is this about dry eyes?!”
“Bro, focus! They’re literally fighting over you!”
“This guy’s chill level is unreal.”
Another wave of rockets exploded in the livestream.
Bai Xiyan finally blinked, then pouted.
“Husband, my eyes really do sting… It kinda hurts.”
Her voice was soft and sweet, nothing like the fierce tone she’d used against her sister.
Ye Chen chuckled and flicked her forehead affectionately.
“Don’t rub them. There’s eye drops in the kitchen first-aid kit. I’ll get them.”
He headed into the kitchen.
Bai Xiyan giggled, shot one last glance at Bai Xiyi, then hurried after him.
Leaving Bai Xiyi standing alone in the living room, her silhouette desolate.
“My heart aches for Xiyi.”
“Divorced, thought she’d be a queen, but now she’s just a bitter ex.”
“How do you fumble the bag this hard?”
“Fumble what? Xiyi’s not regretting anything! She’s just pissed!”
“Exactly! She’s got a Ferrari. She’s living better than you broke losers!”
Bai Xiyi glanced at the comments, then silently sat down.
Rubbing her sore eyes, she listened to the sounds from the kitchen.
The unfairness of it all threatened to drown her.
This was supposed to be hers.
Yet now, she was just an outsider.
But she refused to admit defeat.
“You’re right, everyone. I did regret it at first. But these past three months, I’ve thought it through.”
“The past is just the past. The future has endless possibilities.”
“Even without a man, I can still live brilliantly, just like I said when I came here.”
“Alone, as my own queen. Not caring about anyone. That’s the life I want.”
“They have their happiness. I have my own. Life goes on.”
“After venting, I actually feel stronger. So, let’s leave it at that.”
“I just lost control earlier because… it’s my own sister. Sorry for worrying you all.”
Her tone was calm, as if she’d truly moved on.
But her fingers, clenched tightly around the hem of her skirt, trembled faintly.
No matter how much she pretended or deflected,
A storm still raged inside her.
Some viewers praised her maturity.
Ye Chen peeked out from the kitchen.
“It’s almost noon. Since you say you’re over it, stay for lunch.”
“Xiyan and I will cook. It won’t take long. Eat before you go.”
