Su Ruanruan coaxed him, "When you get better... then..."
Bao Jingyan, however, didn’t take it seriously: "It’s just a little cold!"
Su Ruanruan refused to give in easily, twisting her body to get the medicine and boiled water.
When she came back, Bao Jingyan was smoking again.
Su Ruanruan was unhappy, "Why are you smoking again!"
She snuffed out the cigarette and fed him the medicine and water.
Bao Jingyan seemed to barely tolerate it, raising his hand to set the medicine and water aside.
The world spun around.
Su Ruanruan was trapped under him, and he wanted to kiss her.
Su Ruanruan blocked him, whispering, "The door isn’t closed."
"The servants in the house are old; they won’t come up."
Bao Jingyan finished speaking, then embraced and kissed her.
Having not seen her for several days, Su Ruanruan also missed him... somewhat.
After a long, passionate embrace, they took a break.
Su Ruanruan visited the washroom and came back out to feed him medicine.
This time Bao Jingyan was very cooperative.
Only his dark eyes kept watching her, making Su Ruanruan’s legs go weak.
She said softly, "It’s only been a few days, no need for this!"
Bao Jingyan smiled.
He patted her, "I want to eat porridge, you make it for me."
Out of love for him, Su Ruanruan kissed the corner of his mouth, "You lie down for a while."

Bao Jingyan was feeling listless.
Su Ruanruan thought about making him some century egg and lean pork congee, which should be appetizing.
Gui Zhi helped her on the side.
She asked quietly, "Is Jingyan not feeling well?"
Su Ruanruan nodded, "He’s got a bit of a fever."
Gui Zhi, recalling the noises from earlier, jokingly scolded him, "Always so impulsive and unrestrained, just like a young lad."
She whispered to Su Ruanruan, "It’s because there’s nobody else around. If there were, he definitely wouldn’t be clinging to you like this."
Su Ruanruan glanced at Gui Zhi.
She said, "I know him."
Gui Zhi added some nourishing ingredients to the congee.
She was beaming, "Eat more, and then give birth to a chubby baby boy."
Su Ruanruan was willing to be honest with her, saying, "Not planning it for now, let’s wait until spring."
Gui Zhi agreed, "That’s right, you’ve got to wear the wedding dress with a slim waist to look beautiful."
The two chatted for half a day, and the congee was ready.
Su Ruanruan brought it to the second floor.
Bao Jingyan hadn’t fallen asleep, but he hadn’t smoked again either.
He was sitting on the couch flipping through a magazine, as if waiting for her.
Su Ruanruan sat beside him, spoon-feeding him.
She rarely cared for him like this; usually, it was him taking care of her more often.
But now, it felt very natural.
Bao Jingyan still flipped through the magazine, enjoying her care, while chatting with her about the family matters of the past few days.
After finishing a bowl of congee, he felt much livelier.
He put down the magazine.
She was pulled into his embrace, and he held her head as they intertwined affectionately.
Su Ruanruan half resisted and half complied.
As both were in a somewhat dazed and infatuated state, the little darling pushed the door open.
"Daddy’s home!"
Su Ruanruan’s face flushed red.
She pushed Bao Jingyan away.
Bao Jingyan took a tissue to wipe his hands, giving her a slight smile and a mocking look.
Su Ruanruan glared at him.
She softly instructed the little darling, "Daddy has a bit of a fever, so don’t be too loud around him."
The little darling climbed onto Bao Jingyan, loudly kissing him several times.
Bao Jingyan picked up the little one.
He said, "Daddy needs to recover! Lie down with me for a while."
He treated the little darling as a pillow, downright brazen.
Su Ruanruan laughed, going downstairs.
The little darling cried out; she was unwilling.
Just now Daddy was vibrant and lively!
Bao Jingyan pinched her cheek, "Call Mommy up, and let Daddy and Mommy accompany you together."
The little darling, although somewhat savvy, didn’t know the adults’ cunning.
She went downstairs cheerfully, coaxing Su Ruanruan to come up.
Yet, upon waking up, she realized she was the redundant one.
Dad was snuggling his little darling, sleeping very sweetly!
