Bao Jingyan didn’t pay much attention to He Jitang.
He went straight to the bedside to see little Ci’an and asked Su Ruanruan in a soft voice, "Is Ci’an okay now?"
Su Ruanruan nodded: "The fever has gone down!"
Still worried, she discussed with him, "I’ll stay a bit longer!"
Then Bao Jingyan looked at her steadfastly.
Su Ruanruan thought he was displeased and was about to say something when Bao Jingyan spoke, "What do you mean a bit longer? We’re staying the night!"
He was being unusually generous!
Su Ruanruan stared at him.
Bao Jingyan brazenly looked towards He Jitang with a thick-skinned face, "Third Brother, it’s no problem for Ruanruan and me to stay over for the night, right?"
He Jitang responded coolly and indifferently, "I couldn’t ask for more!"
He went outside to instruct the Housekeeper to prepare two guest rooms.
Bao Jingyan walked out, "One room is enough!"
The Housekeeper felt troubled.

He Jitang was silent for a moment, then compromised, "One room then!"
The Housekeeper finally breathed a sigh of relief and went to make arrangements.
By the door, only two male animals, vying for dominance, were left.
He Jitang asked indifferently, "Are you guarding against me like this?"
Bao Jingyan rolled up his sleeves to unbuckle his shirt buttons and looked at He Jitang, mocking him slightly, "With your pants hanging loose like that, Ruanruan would never fancy a man like you!"
He Jitang clenched his fists.
Bao Jingyan had unfastened two buttons, then stopped.
He glowered at He Jitang, "I know Third Brother is capable, and you have your own rules of the game! But, He Jitang, do you intend to drag the elders and Ci’an into your rules too?"
He Jitang’s slender eyes narrowed slightly.
But Bao Jingyan had already walked into the inner room.
Just then, little Ci’an woke up, nestled in Su Ruanruan’s arms and called for his uncle.
Bao Jingyan took the little one and gave him a kiss, "You’ll sleep with your aunt and uncle tonight!"
Little Ci’an happily hugged Bao Jingyan tightly, even making a small request.
Bao Jingyan agreed to everything!
He Jitang stood outside, in a bad mood!
He admitted that when Bao Jingyan arrived, he had deliberately misled him, but he didn’t expect Bao Jingyan to be entirely indifferent.
Was Bao Jingyan too shrewd, or too good at pretending?
He Jitang couldn’t see through him at all!
Meanwhile, Bao Jingyan happily took He Third Brother’s son back to his own guest room, fed the little guy some boiled water, and instructed Su Ruanruan, "Go take a shower!"
Su Ruanruan felt uneasy, "I don’t have pajamas!"
Bao Jingyan, without a second thought, took off his shirt, "Wear this!"
Spending the night out, Su Ruanruan was not fussy; she took it and went into the bathroom.
Bao Jingyan was left bare-chested.
Little Ci’an admired him all over with his eyes and genuinely praised, "Uncle looks really handsome!"
Bao Jingyan pinched his nose, calling him a little flatterer!
Little children get tired easily when sick, and after chatting for a while, he was sleepy.
Bao Jingyan coaxed him to sleep.
After Su Ruanruan had taken her shower and come out, she saw that little Ci’an was asleep and was somewhat surprised.
Bao Jingyan helped tuck Ci’an in with the blanket, saying at the same time, "The child needs to be well-nurtured."
Su Ruanruan came over to look at Ci’an with him.

Bao Jingyan asked, "Did you discover anything?"
Su Ruanruan pondered for a moment, "I think Third Brother is planning to escape!"
Bao Jingyan cursed softly, "What about Ci’an? What about the whole family? Is he going to abandon them?"
Su Ruanruan gently stroked his brow and snuggled up to him obediently.
She whispered softly, "I guess he might go to Yangcheng."
Bao Jingyan didn’t say anything!
The two of them were silent for a long while.
Then Su Ruanruan finally remembered to ask him, "Why aren’t you angry today?"
Bao Jingyan took a cigarette out of his trouser pocket, but considering little Ci’an present, he just twirled it between his fingers.
Hearing her question, he laughed and countered, "What do I have to be angry about? He just undid two buttons!"
His words were unpleasant, and Su Ruanruan lightly punched him.
Bao Jingyan spoke more frankly, "If it were upright men like your second brother or Yin Zhao, I might be a little jealous, but someone like He Jitang doesn’t deserve it!"
He drew her closer, softly speaking, "My Ruanruan wouldn’t like him."
Su Ruanruan didn’t say anything, just embraced him.
In this world, Bao Jingyan understood her the most!
