Yan Xinxin stared in shock, her small cherry-shaped mouth agape, her entire delicate face frozen in utter disbelief.
He wants to kill her?
But Mo Chuxi’s arm reached out and directly wrapped around her waist, effortlessly trapping her in his embrace.
"Yan Xinxin, did you hear me clearly?"
He pressed her, his dark and husky voice dangerously seductive.
"Since you’ve provoked me, don’t naively think you can leave unless I agree to it."
Yan Xinxin, in a fit of defiance, finished speaking, reached out to push the man holding her away, and turned to leave the room.
Mo Chuxi stood rooted in place, feeling an inexplicable blockage in his chest, an uncomfortable sensation.
Why was it that he actually found himself willing to yield to this headstrong woman who always opposed him?
Was it just because she was his first woman?
The atmosphere was inexplicably stiff.
Yan Xinxin glanced at her son, noticing that he seemed a bit downcast as well.
She thought for a moment, then smiled and spoke up.
"Xi, how about we go back to visit Grandpa this Saturday with Xinxin?"
The little guy took a bite of rice and then gently nodded.
Yan Xinxin smiled and ruffled her son’s hair. As she turned back, the corner of her eye caught Mo Chuxi’s cold and indifferent expression.
"Did you go to the interview today?"
Mo Chuxi suddenly asked.
Yan Xinxin froze for a moment before nodding.
"How did it go?" Mo Chuxi followed up, his tone sounding concerned.
Yan Xinxin casually replied.
Thinking of the things Yan Zhirou had said, the ache in her chest twisted like a knife.
She hadn’t even had a chance to see him...
Mo Chuxi’s gaze lingered coldly on Yan Xinxin’s suddenly melancholic expression, and he began to piece things together in his mind.
Yan Xinxin knew there were two mathematics classes scheduled for the morning, so she woke up early to avoid appearing at Ancheng University with Mo Chuxi again. Seeing the sleeping man beside her, she cautiously uncurled her hands, which had somehow ended up resting on his waist.
"Yan Xinxin, let me make this clear—I’m not a good man."
He repeated his demand, enunciating each word with remarkable clarity.
Yan Xinxin’s heart instantly raced, her mind completely paralyzed.
"Your son’s already calling me Dad; what’s the harm in you calling me husband?"
Mo Chuxi’s reasoning seemed disturbingly logical, but Yan Xinxin couldn’t comprehend it at all!

Yan Xinxin had no choice but to relent.
Her cheeks turned crimson as she lightly bit her bottom lip, struggling internally for quite a while before finally opening her mouth.
Though her voice was soft and reluctant, Mo Chuxi found it inexplicably pleasant to hear.
He finally released her, and Yan Xinxin fled in panic. Yet, she didn’t have the courage for any further resistance, obediently boarding his car to go to school.
As soon as the car stopped in the parking garage, Yan Xinxin dashed out of the vehicle in a hurry.
Mo Chuxi’s gaze was calm as he watched Yan Xinxin’s escape, his expression grim.

Yan Xinxin clutched her textbooks and walked briskly toward the classroom, glancing nervously over her shoulder.

Hearing someone call her name, Yan Xinxin turned around, but before she could see who it was, she collided with something solid and warm.
Out of reflex, Yan Xinxin raised her hand to touch her forehead, only to feel a cool palm covering it as well.
Xu Nuo’s gentle voice reached her ears.
Yan Xinxin froze at his words, lifting her gaze to meet Xu Nuo’s refined and handsome face.
"How can you be so careless?"
"Uh... Xu Nuo, it’s you. I’m fine, it doesn’t hurt."
Yan Xinxin quickly stepped back, putting some distance between herself and Xu Nuo.
Noticing her obvious effort to evade him, Xu Nuo smiled faintly and extended two books toward her.
Yan Xinxin looked down at the books.
"Are these really mine? I thought I lost them. How did they end up with you?"
"You don’t remember?"
Xu Nuo smiled as he began to explain, but his peripheral vision caught someone approaching from behind Yan Xinxin.
Mo Chuxi’s face instantly darkened like the night sky, and with swift and deliberate strides, he stormed ahead.
