Yan Zhirou roared, completely disregarding any semblance of image.
Mo Chuxi’s brows furrowed slightly, clearly displeased.
Yan Zhirou’s last words felt like a sharp thorn stabbing into his heart.
"Yan Zhirou, stop spewing nonsense!"
Yan Xinxin wasn’t about to sit idly by and let Yan Zhirou falsely accuse her.
"That’s right, Xi is my son, but that doesn’t give you the right to slander me. I know you like Mo Chuxi, but don’t assume he’s one of those people who blindly believe baseless lies!"

Yan Zhirou glared ferociously, her seductive gaze now twisted and grotesque. She jabbed her finger straight at Yan Chenxi.
"Can you honestly say that brat isn’t your son? That he isn’t some illegitimate child you had five years ago when you messed around with a random man...?"
Mo Chuxi cut her off coldly, his icy tone frightening Yan Zhirou into immediate silence.
The room went dead quiet; no one dared make a sound. Everyone’s hearts pounded nervously as they watched Yan Zhirou fail miserably. Ye Lirong cautiously stepped forward.
"Mr. Mo, L-Little Rou is just stating the facts. Xinxin had a kid with some stranger five years ago. She’s —how could she possibly be good enough for you, let alone be fit to be the Mo family’s young mistress..."
Yan Xinxin felt her heart sink like a stone at the bottom of the ocean.
Is this her own mother?
How could she say something like that?
It seemed she’d misunderstood one crucial thing...
"Since I chose Yan Xinxin, it means only she is worthy of me. Whatever her past may hold doesn’t affect how I feel about her. Do you understand?"
Mo Chuxi’s voice was cold and firm, leaving no room for argument. Coupled with the frost-filled gaze of his sharp eyes, Ye Lirong instantly deflated, too scared to utter another word.
Yan Zhirou clenched her fists tightly, full of unwillingness, but her face burned with humiliation.

Hearing this, Yan Xinxin abruptly raised her eyes to look at Mo Chuxi, but all she saw was his gentle, smiling gaze. It was inexplicably tender, almost dreamlike.
Mo Chuxi held Yan Xinxin’s hand as they walked toward the door. Then, releasing her hand, he bent down and scooped Yan Chenxi into his arms, his gaze warm as spring as he looked back at the stunned young woman.
"Let’s go. Bring your dad along."
He reminded her softly, then carried little Yan Chenxi and led the way downstairs.
Yan Xinxin froze in place for a few seconds before snapping back to her senses and turning to follow.
Seeing everyone in the room staring at her, she couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable, especially under Yan Zhirou’s venomous glare that seemed like she wanted to devour her alive—it made her feel even worse.
"Dad, come with me and Xi to eat outside, okay?"
She approached Yang Guoping, her tone calm as she asked.
Yang Guoping hesitated briefly.
"Xinxin, that Mr. Mo... is he really pursuing you?"
"Xinxin, tell Mom—how did you meet Mr. Mo? Is it true that he wants to marry you and make you the Mo family’s young mistress?"
