Yan Xinxin was just about to stop her son when she heard Mo Chuxi’s pleasant voice coming closer.
When she lifted her gaze, she was instantly stunned.
Mo Chuxi was wearing the same style of parent-child hiking outfit as them. The dark blue set enhanced his noble and cool aura, now tinged with a casual charm.
Yet, his face remained as breathtakingly captivating as ever. The moment he appeared, he naturally became the center of attention.
The buzz-cut boy and his equally buzz-cut father froze in place when they saw Mo Chuxi’s dignified and handsome figure approaching.
With a proud little grin, Yan Chenxi revealed his cute small tiger-like teeth.
"Daddy Chuxi! I knew you’d come for sure!"
Yan Chenxi happily ran toward him, and Mo Chuxi naturally and generously scooped him up in one movement.
That warm and affectionate scene made even Yan Xinxin almost believe they were actually father and son!
Seeing Mo Chuxi arrive, the young Teacher Lin blushed and walked over.
"Hello, Mr. Yan! I thought you weren’t going to make it today!"
She greeted him with a slightly shy smile.
Yan Xinxin froze—caught off guard by what she’d just heard.
Indeed, Teacher Lin thought Mo Chuxi was the child’s father, so calling him Mr. Yan wasn’t wrong.
"So this man isn’t that Young Master Mo?"
"Yeah, I thought he was the Crown Prince of the Di Jue Financial Group! He really does look alike!"
The nearby parents looked at Mo Chuxi’s face and whispered amongst themselves, while the father-and-son duo from earlier no longer dared to say a word.
Mo Chuxi’s commanding aura was overwhelming; even a subtle icy glance from him earlier had been enough to silence them completely.
"The bus is here! All children and their parents, please line up and board in an orderly manner!"
The teacher’s voice called out, and everyone began boarding the bus in an organized manner.
Mo Chuxi glanced at Yan Xinxin, then carried Yan Chenxi to get in line for the bus. Yan Xinxin quickly snapped out of her daze and hurriedly followed after them.
The sky was vivid blue.
White clouds drifted leisurely across it, free and unrestrained.
Mo Chuxi and Yan Xinxin sat in the very last row of the bus, while little Yan Chenxi sat by the window, happily watching the scenery glide past.
Yan Xinxin asked softly, lifting her bright starry eyes to glance at the man’s chiseled and handsome profile.
"There were two advanced calculus lectures this morning."
Mo Chuxi turned to look at her when he heard this. Under the clear daylight, his delicate yet striking features made Yan Xinxin’s ears warm slightly.
"Yan Xinxin, tell me—did you want me to come or not?"
The question he threw back at her left her speechless.
Having him there wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
At the very least, he effortlessly shut up the father-and-son pair who had been bullying her son earlier.
Seeing Yan Xinxin avoid his gaze and stay silent, Mo Chuxi pressed on.
"I switched classes with a fellow teacher."
"There’s nothing more important than being with my wife and son, isn’t that right?"
Yan Xinxin’s eyes widened as she caught Chuxi’s ambiguous and teasing smile, and from the corner of her eye, she noticed some young moms nearby looking at her with envy...
A 30-minute bus ride later, they arrived at their destination.
There were about six classes of children, along with their parents—altogether roughly two to three hundred people.
Each class teacher led their respective group of children along different paths, ascending the mountain via ancient stone-paved trails. Yan Xinxin noticed how genuinely happy her son was.
Perhaps, deep down, he truly longed for a father figure in his life.
A feeling of melancholy washed over Yan Xinxin. He was so unattainable, too far above her station—something she could never aspire to.
Walking alongside Mo Chuxi, little Chenxi almost tripped. This startled Mo Chuxi, who immediately warned him, but the little boy just smiled calmly.
"Don’t worry, Daddy Chuxi. Xinxin says my blood is as precious as a panda’s, so I won’t let myself get hurt that easily!"
Hearing this, Mo Chuxi paused for a moment. "You have panda blood?"
