"You black mountain demon, shut up!"
Yan Chenxi glared fiercely with his sharp little eyes, livid, and snapped at Xue Mengshi.
Xue Mengshi’s face immediately darkened.
"You brat! How dare you call me a black mountain demon!"
Yan Chenxi fearlessly raised his charming little face.
"Why wouldn’t I dare? Whoever bullies Xinxin, I’ll curse them! If I can’t beat you to death, I’ll curse you to death!"
"Where did this little bastard come from? How dare he insult us!"
Xue Mengshi, enraged and humiliated, raised her hand, ready to slap Yan Chenxi’s delicate face.
With a sharp "smack," Yan Xinxin reached out and grabbed Xue Mengshi’s wrist.
"What do you think you’re doing!"
Yan Xinxin furrowed her brow, her gaze sharper than ever as she stared directly at the vicious woman before her.
"Chenxi insulted you, but let’s be clear—it was you who started the provocation!"
Yan Xinxin angrily flung Xue Mengshi’s hand away.
"I don’t know you, and frankly, I don’t care to. From now on, please treat me as invisible when you see me. Thank you! Chenxi, let’s go!"
Mo Xiaoli couldn’t let it slide.
"Yan Xinxin, you damn wretch! Poor and pathetic, you can’t even afford a decent dress, and here you are acting all high and mighty! Your skirt is so washed-out it’s practically white!"
"Already have a son and still pretending to be pure! What now? Bought a cake for your son or for your lover? Damn it! If I’m upset, you don’t get to be happy either!"
Mo Xiaoli yelled furiously, suddenly reaching out to snatch the cake box Yan Xinxin was holding and throwing it onto the ground.
Seeing the cake she’d carefully made for someone about to be destroyed, Yan Xinxin gasped aloud.
Passersby, hearing the commotion, began to glance over in twos and threes.
The cake box landed heavily on the ground, its ribbon unraveling. Inside, the sea-salt cake spilled out, scattering onto the pavement.
"Despicable! You two are nothing but scumbags!"
Yan Chenxi, now furious, shouted.
Xue Mengshi and Mo Xiaoli, however, laughed gleefully, thoroughly entertained by the scene and emboldened as more people gathered to watch.
"Pah! Pure campus flower? More like the sluttiest campus flower!"
Mo Xiaoli spat insults, taking advantage of Yan Xinxin’s distraction as she stared at the ruined cake, reaching out to shove her.
Yan Chenxi rushed forward, desperately trying to grab onto Yan Xinxin.
Caught off guard, Yan Xinxin stumbled backward several steps, and when she was on the brink of falling, her body swayed and collided into a familiar embrace.
Mo Chuxi’s low and icy voice sounded next to her ear.
Yan Xinxin froze, looking up to see his strikingly handsome, cold face.
Mo Xiaoli and Xue Mengshi, who had been smugly bullying and humiliating Yan Xinxin just moments earlier, instantly froze as if their faces had been coated in ice upon seeing the man behind Yan Xinxin. They went from arrogant to meek in a heartbeat.
Yan Chenxi stepped forward.
"Chuxi Daddy! These two bad people bullied Xinxin and even threw away the cake she’d made for you!"
Mo Xiaoli and Xue Mengshi’s faces turned pale as dogs in shock upon hearing Yan Chenxi’s words.
This brat is calling Young Master Mo "Daddy"?!
Mo Chuxi let go of Yan Xinxin’s slender waist and stepped forward, his imposing figure radiating cold authority.
"It seems you two don’t want to stay in An City anymore."
"No, no! Young Master Mo, we didn’t..."
"Didn’t what? Didn’t bully Yan Xinxin? Didn’t throw her cake onto the ground?"
Mo Chuxi interrupted coldly, the dwindling afternoon sunlight casting shadows on his frozen, impassive face, making him both captivating and terrifying.
"You have two choices: apologize to Yan Xinxin and eat the cake off the ground, or get the hell out of An City."
