Yan Xinxin pointed weakly at her abdomen, her delicate brows tightly furrowed.
Mo Chuxi’s heartbeat quickened with nervousness.
"Why would it hurt all of a sudden?"
"It’s all because of you! You made me so angry!"
Yan Xinxin pinned the blame on Mo Chuxi, her spirited, beautiful eyes glanced sideways, catching sight of the man’s tense and worried expression.
"It hurts so much..."
Yan Xinxin murmured weakly.
Mo Chuxi heard her words, and for an inexplicable reason, he felt a sharp pang in his heart.
"When I gave birth to Xi, it wasn’t this painful. Mo Chuxi, you bully me every day—do you really think I can safely give birth to your daughter ?"
Hearing her soft voice laden with complaints, Mo Chuxi felt the pain in his chest spread like needles pricking him.
He lowered his head and saw Yan Xinxin pouting in grievance.
Yan Xinxin raised her beautiful, protesting eyes.
"Mo Chuxi, if you keep bullying me , you’ll definitely regret it..."
Even though Yan Xinxin’s words lacked any menace or threatening tone, Mo Chuxi inexplicably felt uneasy upon hearing them.
Looking at her watery eyes filled with grievance, he gently placed his hand on her stomach.
"Does it still hurt?"
Yan Xinxin nodded without hesitation.
"Don’t be afraid. I’ll take you to the hospital now—everything will be fine."
Yan Xinxin’s tiny pangs of guilt made her lower her head.
"I don’t want to go to the hospital. I... I’m tired, I want to sleep."
"If you’re feeling unwell, we have to go to the hospital. Don’t be stubborn, be good."
As Mo Chuxi spoke, he extended his arms and scooped Yan Xinxin up by the waist.
Yan Xinxin was speechless. She hadn’t expected that Mo Chuxi would actually take her to the hospital for a check-up. It wasn’t until the doctor confirmed that she and the baby were perfectly fine that he finally brought her back to the apartment, feeling reassured.

Mo Chuxi lifted his elegant eyes to meet her gaze. The soft lighting made the depths of his eyes mesmerizing and inviting.
"You’re carrying my child right now. I won’t allow you to go elsewhere and do those trivial jobs. If you want to work and earn money, that’s fine—but you must stay within my sight."
"Mo Chuxi, I’ve told you, I enjoy making desserts..."
"Then make me one dessert every day. That’ll be your daily task moving forward."
Yan Xinxin was flabbergasted.
She hadn’t expected Mo Chuxi to come up with a request .
As she spaced out, his presence encroached upon her.
Yan Xinxin regained focus, her eyes clearly reflecting Mo Chuxi’s alluringly handsome face.
"Xi said you prepared a cake for me today, is that true?"
Yan Xinxin immediately denied it, but just as she was about to turn her head, Mo Chuxi reached out and gently cupped it, his face moving several inches closer to hers, trapping her with the depths of his gaze.

He lowered his voice, his face closing the gap until his faint, pale lips teasingly brushed against her milk-stained rosy ones.
